Description:
A bit of a departure for me, but what the heck. It's a TUMI.

Lyrics:
There's one thing that I am sure
I'm sick to death of being poor
I want my bills to be a bore
And not a frightening weighted chore

Sick of begging for my pay
Weeks past when it's due. Today
I'm begging for my money. They
gonna make my hair turn grey

I want dollars, pounds and yen
Kroner, pesos, drachma, then
Pile on Euros, rubles, bucks
Cuz being poor just plain old sucks

Can't spend a dime on any things
Watching pennies really stings
Cannot have the smallest flings
Diamonds? No, they're onion rings

Sick of peanut butter and jam
Hot dogs and God help me, Spam
Sick of Mac and cheese, God damn
I'm sick of being poor, I am!

I want dollars, pounds and yen
Kroner, pesos, drachma, then
Pile on Euros, rubles, bucks
Cuz being poor just plain old sucks

There's one thing that I am sure
I'm sick to death of being poor
I want to pay my rent before
My landlord heaves me out the door.

I don't ask for much, oh, no
Just wanna pay off what I owe
Give me a big pile of dough
Cuz poverty's my status quo

I want dollars, pounds and yen
Kroner, pesos, drachma, then
Pile on Euros, rubles, bucks
Cuz being poor just plain old sucks
Cuz being poor just plain old sucks

I like this tune &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:11:12 AM
For some reason it really makes me laugh because the
heavy metal sounds is not your style. But because it is
about money, in a humorous way, it really fits in.

I think this is my favorite of yours. Good luck!!

I like this tune &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:16:34 AM
Thanks for getting the joke! I haven't a rocker bone in my body, so naturally, I
had to try it out. Can't get too predictable, now, can I? Thanks, Tiler!

Great &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:49:58 PM
I like hot dogs, too, except when I've had too many because that's all I could
afford. Thanks for listening and commenting!

Go Joanna! &mdash 04/06/05 - 12:12:58 PM
This is often what makes GB and MacJams fun...
experimenting, trying something different! It took
me a couple listens to get adjusted, but this is a
really fun tune... cracks me up! Way to let it rip.

Go Joanna! &mdash 04/06/05 - 12:27:02 PM
...by the way, I kind of knew all along you had this in you...that hard rock
growl... you've got endless sleeves...

Go Joanna! &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:53:51 PM
Lol at "endless sleeves"! I had to make fun of myself with this one, and I felt
there was no better way than to throw in some hard rock, since it's the
opposite of my usual stuff. Besides, there no better vehicle for a satiracle
rant!

You have the knack! &mdash 04/06/05 - 08:43:58 PM
Make me laugh my butt off! Witty lyrics that are funny
and poignant at the same time... not an easy trick to pull!
Loved hearing you get down and dirty with your vocal self!

ac -- I had to commune with the rocker within. I think it's because I have long
hair. Thanks for having some fun along with me!

ahh &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:15:59 PM
your voice cuts in too much. maybe intregrate it with the
electronic sound better or turn your voice down.
high quality vocals...very funny. took me by suprise

Thank you, Stealth! I have a tough time with my mixes. I never seem to get
them right. I'll have a look at the levels and see what I can do. Thank you so
much for your help, and for having a good time with the song!

Your song art is a start. :)
This was a funny departure and fun to hear.

The song art is a scan I made a few years ago when I was a tad more flush!
Thank you, Mungo, I'm happy you enjoyed it!

Really different from your typical style &mdash 04/09/05 - 08:49:39 PM
Wow. Definetely cool lyrics, very well written and I hear ya
about being poor.

I think that more softer sections and less of the thrash
would be better to balance out the song overall. I liked
the thrash, and I think that you really know how to throw
it down, but I think just a little less would be better.

I never pictured you to throw out a tune in this style, and I
my attention was certainly grabbed right away.

This one certainly has style I will definetely give you that
one! Good Luck in the contest.

Rock on, sister! &mdash 04/16/05 - 11:45:10 AM
That moment when the guitars come in had my laughing
out loud. This is indeed rather incongruous with your
earlier work.

Completely! And that's why I just had to give it a go. Thanks for listening, Vic!

What a great break-out song. Love the humor, wit, vibrancy.

Thank you, Mystie! Sometimes a woman just has to thrash it up a bit, y'know?
Nice way to get out the frustrations of this expensive world we live in.
