Description:
Hey y'all. Been a while!

Lyrics:
This is the sound of a woebegotten misanthrope
But I'm coming around on the notion that there's cause to hope for us all
We're waiting for the fall

This is the sound of a cantilevered cotton gin
And I'm forced to retrace all the steps that lead to where I've been and will go
We're old enough to know

We're keeping our appearance fresh for the daily mail

This is the sound of a sermon on integrity
Yet I'm hanging around, with a keen eye on your equity and know-all
I'm waiting for your call

This is the sound of an introverted pragmatist and I'm
Painting the town with a mind on all the fun I've missed and won't know
The stars have left the show

This is the sound of an overeager full court press and I'm
Scanning around for a priest to whom I might confess in shadowy cabal
Oh God, I want it all
Dear God, I want it all

winsome erudition &mdash 04/07/05 - 01:53:46 PM
Nice 80's Morrissey/lloyd cole type feel, I liked it when the
keyboards came in (for some reason it reminded me of a
Cars track but can't think which one). You have obviously
put some care into the lyrics too

Lotsa big words &mdash 04/07/05 - 05:50:03 PM
Equals cool lyrics and real interesting song. Very 80's
feeling tune (nothing wrong with that either). One thing I
really appreciated was how the bass line was played so
rhythmically. Great song!

This is the sound &mdash 04/07/05 - 10:35:08 PM
of an honest piece of music. Well done.

Them's some fancy words... &mdash 05/15/05 - 11:58:09 PM
I really like your lyrics. Your choice of words gives the
song a flowing rhythm. Great voice, too.

More great writing &mdash 09/29/05 - 08:58:56 AM
Excellent writing. The arrangement isn't as rich as your other tunes, which
were all radio ready. Definitely worth another go around to fill it out.
Great writing.
