obey your Master! Thanks everyone for the flattering comments. This was my first finished composition with Logic, and I'm afraid it'll be hard to top. Mastering is a black art. I've concluded that I just can't produce the same results as this guy (xarcmastering.com). Sure I have multiband compressors and expensive reverbs, FIR mastering EQs, but knowing what to do with them is the larger part of the story. Anyway, glad this brings a smile to some people's faces. starts off great i really liked it until the electric piano part, and then it starting becoming something else, and then the regular piano solo just seemed too busy for the easy going feel of the piece. i wished you would've stuck with the feel of the first half, it was perfect. really like that bouncy electric piano and cello duet. Funny old world... This sounds superb. This is so much richer than the first posting. I'd have thought that by the time stuff was compressed to MP3, the mastering process wouldn't make a whole heap of difference. Clearly, I'm never going to fully understand recording audio before I die... Anyway, enough of my meanderings, it's a lovely track. Only point to note is that (for obvious reasons) the piano doesn't sound like it was in the same space as the cello - not sure how to solve the real/virtual issue though. Great stuff. What a lush, gorgeous sound! This genre of music isn't exactly my thing but this song really put a smile on my face.
