Description:
I drop the "F" bomb a couple of times in this one. I guess that constitutes "explicit" lyrics.

I don't even remember what I was so hacked off about when I wrote it... Oh, yeah... Ha!

Lyrics:
In The Hole
Dave Placko © 1992

Stuck in this fuckin' hole
Man made jail. No way for me to run
They got chains; they got shackles on me
Kidnapped pris'ner of bureaucracy

When it's over, when it's over
Life will change; be re-arranged
When it's over, when it's over
Hell won't freeze. On your knees, now!

Been so long I've played their games
Landmark achievements flushed down the drain
Livin' with Mom and Daddy just to get by
Fuck the system. I will survive

When it's over, when it's over
Life will change; be re-arranged
When it's over, when it's over
Hell won't freeze. On your knees, now!

When it's over, all said and done
I can break the chains and have my fun
I'll blow that silly smoke right back in their faces
Kick back and laugh. Can't be disgrace

When it's over, when it's over
Life will change; be re-arranged
When it's over, when it's over
Hell won't freeze. On your knees, now!

Great tune. Great blend of guitar sounds. great singing,
over-driven guitar sounds. Great vocals. Hot chops!

Excellent, excellent &mdash 04/07/05 - 09:48:20 PM
Loved it. Sounds like some R.E.M. back in the good ole
days. Whatever it was that got you hacked off helped you
write a great tune.

When I visit a song page... &mdash 04/08/05 - 09:19:17 AM
the first thing I look at is the overall presentation. Song art, lyrics, description...yada, yada, yada. When I hear a great song without lyrics I request they be posted because I think it adds professionalism to the perception behind the screen names. It also is a sign of respect for the other artists that take the time to view, listen, vote and comment on tune after tune after tune. The ones that don't get in a hurry when it is time to submit, and include everything, are the ones that stand out above the thousands of songs available here in the MJ community. If you want to be heard, put your best foot(song submission) forward. The only reason I took the time to ramble on about this is cuz your music is worth it. I usually wait a week or so to see if the artist will post the lyrics. If lyrics aren't posted, my vote reflects my opinion. Have a great day!

Well done - singing, playing and production.
Lyrics make me want to tell the singer to stop complaining
and DO SOMETHING NOW and stop waiting for things to
happen. It's kind of like the villians in movies and comic
books who explain their fiendish plot, giving the hero
enough time to untie his ropes, and now with full
knowledge of the villian's objectives and means, thwart
their plans.
Sorry, I'm babbling.

Nice song &mdash 10/06/06 - 11:13:27 PM
I enjoyed this song. The guitar playing is very good and the vocal changes in the chorus are nice. You have a very nice and unique style in your music I like.

Thanks and keep posting. Off to listen to another.

No really. Matthew Sweet. On the first line it totally clicked, that's who I think of sometimes when I listen to your stuff. But I love M. Sweet, so that is a compliment. I think this is my fav so far of the 8 or so I've heard. I LOVE the bridge. Great melody. Jangly and mean and sweet simultaneously. Like the "now" on the chorus repeat delay with pan--nice touch.
