Description
Does the subject matter of this song really need explanation? We've all been there.

Another song by my band, "Incite Out." Again, the original was done on my Roland VS-1824 and remixed in GarageBand. Our bass player wasn't available for the original recording session so, I played bass on this one.

Lyrics
Perpetual Fall
Dave Placko © 1999

I am pissed off. I am angry. I am right out of my head!
I don't know why she does this to me. Are my eyes turnin' red?

When I met her my heart skipped a beat
Now, I don't see her enough any more
When her eyes met mine I was swept off my feet
Now, I can't even get up off the floor

She took me by surprise. I did not expect this at all
I've given up on reason. I am living a perpetual fall

Now, I have been crazy and my eyes have been hazy
But then, I never knew her before
Now every moment that I am awake I'm running my head through a door

She took me by surprise. I did not expect this at all
I've given up on reason. I am living a perpetual fall

She took me by surprise. I did not expect this at all
I've given up on reason. I am living a perpetual fall

Now, I gotta do something before I crack
Gotta tell her how I really feel
'Cause if I don't I ain't gonna make it
It's time to come out. It's time to get real!

She took me by surprise. I did not expect this at all
I've given up on reason. I am living a perpetual fall

She took me by surprise. I did not expect this at all
I've given up on reason. I am living a perpetual fall

Living a perpetual fall
Living a perpetual fall

Very Good Song
Very good performances and mix too.
This is catchy - it reminds me of early Smithereens.
Didn't expect the AM radio vocal moment there - that
took me surprise.

Very Good Song
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I'm not so sure I like the "megaphone" effect
I used there. I've had that effect in mind for that passage since the song's
inception. I never had the means to do it 'till GarageBand though. Now that I
mixed it into the recording, it kinda comes off as harsh and abrasive. I like it
but maybe not as extreme. Yes? No? I dunno. I am having a blast with this
stuff :)

Great Work
Great work all the way around. Production is solid as are
the performances. Wow, what a tune, rock on!

Kind of a shame
This good rock song is being so overlooked here. Makes
me wonder what goes through folks heads...

At any rate- this is a very good, driving rock and roll song
with neat lyrics... good job on the bass :-) The
megaphone bit worked for me. Just enough of it and in an
appropriate spot.

drivin' music
Totally passes the "git out of my way" behind the wheel test. I actually love the megaphone passage- it's a nice break. You also really cut loose on your vocals a little on this one. In your stuff you start out with insanely driving guitars and then when your vocal cuts in you seem restrained somehow. Like maybe you are tryin' not to bother the neighbors? Kinda too pretty for the nastiness of the music. Anyway, on parts of this one you are starting to break through that, and I start to "feel" what you are singing, and feel you are really feeling it too, not just singing words. Well done. Hope you don't mind the critiques. But I don't give them unless I care about it. We have a lot in common. Feel free to return the favor if you are inclined. Cheers.

Thanks!
Um, did you change your handle? The avatar looks familiar but, for some reason, I'm associating the pic with a different name.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. I'm personally not happy with the production but, then again, I never am! Glad you enjoyed it.
