Description:
Decided to make a contest song and this is what happened. Obstensibly about those that control the world from behind the scenes. My hardware synths make their MacJams.com debut. Though I'm not really a singer, thought I'd give it a try. Vocals recorded with my daughter crawling underneath the stool I was sitting on. Sort of gives you perspective (scary song and lyrics are actually fun!) Not sure if it's really industrial, but one of my students said it was.
Lyrics:
All we've wanted
All we've needed
All we've taken
We have stolen/taken
from you
Hardware:
iBook G3 600, eMac G4, Ensoniq SQ-2, Alesix Midiverb 2, unidentified audio-technica mic, M-Audio MobilePre
Software:
Garageband, Korg Legacy Collection (Wavestation and Poly-Six), a bunch of TUMi loops

First comment, first vote, first hit.
Ok, love the beats as it opens. Reminds me of Lycia.I need
to learn how to get such a fat sound. I despised loops
until Tumi. Now I am thinking of buying the set and
hunting down more. Sadly, I don't think I would use them
correctly,
Students?
Industrial works. Damn god song. Pump the vocals Scare
the kid. Therapy isn't that expensive, besides, you turned
out fine.
Not sure I understand the lyrics. Dumb them down!
Beautiful. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the comments! I agree, most loops aren't terribly musical, but the
TUMi freebees rock. The student's I referred to are from my Honors English
and Psychology classes. Occasionally I'll edit something on my eMac at work
and they sometimes get to hear. I will dumb those lyrics down! Sorry to
confuse! :) [ Reply to This ]
Yep &mdash 04/13/05 - 06:46:18 AM
that is industrial alright. This has a great sinister feel to it.
You can use childrens laughter to mak some scary stuff. Check out my song "self". That my 2 year old laughing on that track.
This is very good! I downloaded! Good luck in the contest! [ Reply to This ]

i like the movement & floaty feel to this-very hard to pin
down the sound. complicated, but simple at the same
time. very cool

Thanks for the comment and the download. I'm finding that MacJams harbors
a pretty cool bunch of folks. [ Reply to This ]
Industrial used to mean..... &mdash 04/14/05 - 09:27:22 PM
....shitload of non-tonal, non-rhythmic noise. People who
grew up with that definition say that now it means "disco".
Anyway, yeah, this has some nicely aggresssive noises. [ Reply to This ]
Weird &mdash 05/01/05 - 03:48:38 PM
But I like it.
It has a dark resonant feel to it.
I like the way you have done the vocals. That perc is a bit
heavy in the mix, I got some very bassy feel from it, but
all in all, I really like this track a lot.
Nice one

It's about time a song was put on the internet about those bastards, nothing but fucking murderous control freaks! [ Reply to This ]
Illuminati are Lizards and Eat Insects &mdash 09/27/05 - 07:37:23 PM
Spooky and smooth and good beat and sproingy distorted bass drum /
bass and icy and blue and silver and shards of sharp metal look out and
why would the illuminati want to warn me? [ Reply to This ]
