Description
No song writer's repetoir would be complete without a song about trains would it?
This song is my first attempt at actually writing a song using a mandolin I've been trying to learn. It started out as a little rhythm I put together on the mandolin then I tried playing a little picking along with it. I sort of like that so I added some guitar. At that point I figured it needed some words and as long as I was going Folksy I better write a song about missing a train driving woman.
Its just a short 2 minute diddy but I think its sort of infectious and I just can't stop listening to it. I hope you like it as much as I do. Its really like Folk-blues if you ask me.

Lyrics
My baby runs a choo choo train
my baby runs a choo choo train
but she's driving me insane
She rolls along from state to state
but I don't miss her anyway, oh no
She toots her horn as she rolls by
sometimes it makes me want cry
and I think of her each day
If I don't know just where she'll be
I imagine her right next to me baby
I love her ever so much
I miss her feel I need her touch
I can't wait to hear her say
as she whispers into my ear
baby I'm your engineer oh yea
in too short a time she's gone again
as she rolls her train around the bend
I think of her and say
I miss her more than I know
but she'll be back again at least I hope so
someday
my baby runs a choo choo train
but she's driving me insane
She rolls along from state to state
but I don't miss her anyway, oh no
She toots her horn as she rolls by
sometimes it makes me want cry
and I think of her each day
If I don't know just where she'll be

I like the recording, really well done. And I agree we need more choo choo songs on this site.
Nicely done!
