nice words / scriptures thank you. i made this custom drum set in garage band called "distant folk" or something with a ton of verb on it, then i used some of the more world-ish drums in the upper keys. when i added that, it really kicked it up. one thing i learned here that i always hear sufjan stephens doing is layering melodies instead of melody over chords. this is the begining of that with the flutes, but theres still a ways to go. thanks another fine song from you-yeah the flutes and percussion really take it to another level-it seems like songs that really stand out around here don't use alot of the typical "canned" garageband sounds and effects- whatever you can do to put more "air" (live instruments) into a recording helps w/ its' authenticity-and your songs are nothing if not authentic-you might like the latest damien jurado lp too-anyway thanks for your great songs!
