Lyrics
FAR END OF THE WEEK
Me and Boris the Bull

All along you had told me
It wasn't that I didn't believe
You said you had to leave for somewhere
You'd be back by the far end of the week.

I don't mind separation
It's good to stand on my own two feet
And I love your conversation,
Except when our eyes don't meet.

Don't you fly too far
You know it breaks my heart
Whether near or far
Love you anywhere you are.

The thoughts I have they turn to weary
I think my heart just missed a beat
I wonder if I'm gonna make it
To the far end of the week

When you called the night before Sunday
My quiet eyes began to see
The sound you make, makes me so happy
I forget the thousand miles between you and me

Don't you fly too far
You know it breaks my heart
Whether near or far
Love you anywhere you are.

Now, I don't mind separation
In fact, it's good to feel my feet
And I love your conversation
I can't wait until we meet
At the far end of the week

Don't you fly too far
You know it breaks my heart
Whether near or far
Love you anywhere you are.
You're my shooting star
Love you anywhere you are.

I like this a lot
Lovely jangly guitar sound, and a good solid heartfelt
song. I particularly like the chorus, which has a kind
of retro sound to it. Very nicely done.

nice voice and very good strumming
Like the tune.
You do a very good delivering the tune.
Nice chorus.Almost like a Lennon tune with that high
vocal.

Thanks

Wild Horses
Got a serious Stones vibe going on here.

The Band?
Open strains of music and first line reminded me of "I
Shall Be Released" by The Band. Nothing wrong with that...
great band and great song.

What was the high pitched noise througout? That was the
only thing that bothered me. Musically a very good tune!

Nice one
As Mungo mentioned a slight Stones vibe.
Love the high vocal. Nice song and sweeping melody.
I really like the breakdown, Rock on!

Nice one
wow! to be considered in the company of lennon, the band, and the stones
means the song doesn't at least svck! hehe

i appreciate all your feedback. i don't really know much by the band, except
for "cripple creek." and as for the stones, well, the chord structure is similar
to "angie," so it's not surprising that there's a noted vibe there.

but to my own credit, this is one song where i tried to break some patterns. i
tried using two vocal approaches in one song, which i think could ruin a song
sometimes. i think it was "epic" by faith no more that got me to think in that
direction.

anyhow, i apologize for the "humm" running through the song... it was
recorded prior to purchasing an m-audio pre amp, when i had a whole lot of
hiss and humm issues.

again, i'm humbled and grateful to you all for checking this out and leaving
feedback... thank you!!!

Impromptu intruments!
Driving tune! You got a magical quality about your songs.
I like how you have a number of different singing voices.
Parts which you use here sounds so much like John
Lennon. Thanks for posting

Another beautiful natural
tune.
I found the melody really well suited to the lyrics.
The differing vocal styles certainly added to the
enjoyment.
thanks for sharing

Different in a good way
One thing that makes this a good song to me is that it
keeps your interest throughout. Well....ok. So i'm a sucker
for the jangly guitar to begin with, but all the other
elements and vocal treatment make it usual and
interesting.

Well done.

Hey, solid song
Do you know "The Debris" from Ronnie Lane (The Faces)?
Listen to it some day (it has great mandoline arrangements).
It has the same honest approach as your song here and your
song reminds me a lot of Ronnie Lane's. (here's another one
of the legends, except he's been totally forgotten) You
should lift it up productionwise though, this tune deserves it.
(I will upload it at http://homepage.mac.com/logoz
in a "Boris"folder, but be patient, I have a job)
