Description:
Another pain staking endeavor of transferring a previously recorded song from my Roland VS-1824 into GarageBand to get a better mix. I think this one might be my best effort yet. If I could figure out how to get the 1824 and GarageBand to synch up, this wouldn't be so much of a bother.
Lyrics:
Coming Down
Dave Placko © 1992
I'm coming down from high atop the clouds
Where I've spent the last seven days in a moon-struck rouse
I wonder what could have been, what should've been
Perhaps, never was
Forsake all thought. Subconsciously doze
I'm coming down, down down
Like a falling star headed straight into the ground
I'm coming down, down down
God, help me. I'm coming down
I'm coming down from my nest among the trees
Where sanity blows by me on a cold and thoughtless breeze
You could go there today or tomorrow; in two weeks
When you get back
They're gonna call you a freak
I'm coming down, down down
Like a falling star headed straight into the ground
I'm coming down, down down
God, help me. I'm coming down
Climbed so high; reached the sky. Now, I'm falling to the ground
Hit my head. Should've stayed in bed. Yeah, I'm coming down
I'm coming down on waves of frozen rain
Where nothin' can catch me. Not even the pain
Over the hills and through the woods
Through Hell, through Hell through Hell!
Nothin' to do. Not a damn thing to do. Start all over again
I'm coming down, down down
Like a falling star headed straight into the ground
I'm coming down, down down
God, help me. I'm coming down

Great groove &mdash 04/22/05 - 07:43:18 AM
A great mix and a great sound -- reminds me of the song
from the 70s, "Smokin' In The Boys' Room." Not lyrically,
but the same feel. I like the delay/echo effect in the
vocals. [ Reply to This ]

That thick overdrive. This is the kind of rock and roll that I
live for. Great lyrics to boot... a huge bonus.
Pretty much like everything you've posted.... please keep
them coming. [ Reply to This ]

Great tune, but I have enjoyed all of your music so that's no surprise. [ Reply to This ]
Love the artwork. &mdash 04/22/05 - 08:18:37 PM
"Overdrive"? Is that the name for this sound? I know nothing about this stuff but I rocked out. :-) [ Reply to This ]
Yeah &mdash 04/23/05 - 11:38:20 PM
As usual great vocal and guitar work... This a solid
composition all the way around. I really like the grittiness
of this one. [ Reply to This ]
