Description:
this is a song about something i might put in a time capsule and open when elijah is 21. some thing like that. i remixed an earlyer version.

Lyrics:
ive got a boat in the river now
no more dreamin behind the plow
cant remember what ive done
really enjoy the morning sun
born again while my potatoes fry
and when i dream about
all the time that ive lived without
i can hear my heart
and i can see how it all came apart
halliluyah it all came apart
something as simple as us
sleeping in the same bed
something as hard as trust
halliluyah hard as trust
wish i knew ya
i think i have friend
or i fancy i do
but most of the time its just
fancy ol me and you
halliluyah glad i know you when i knew ya
feels sort of like the beach and the sand
shifting and drifting but im still the same ol man
skys sort of cloudy and the waters sort of calm
guess im just reflecting on my long walk home
hope im there to see the day
that i make you proud in a very real way
that you can see your own way home
and i will be there at the end of the road
that the tears are for joy and all the good things
that you remember whenever you sing halliluyah

I want to like this song--in fact, I do like this song, I just
don't quite know what it is about. But that could just be
me. Maybe it's not about anything? (I have been accused
of writing obtuse lyrics myself.)

(Tried to respond to the email you sent re: this song but it kept coming back,
so here is my response (below).

Thanks for the explanation. I think it is a very wonderful, personal song, and I
appreciate the email. Sometimes, when I listen to a song, I hear the music and
am not able to focus clearly on the words. I really liked your song, because of
the music. Now, I love the lyrics, too. Thanks again, Tim. I think you do
excellent pieces and I am glad you are posting. I loved 'baby makes the day.'
One of my favorites.

Tom

Nice re-mix &mdash 04/22/05 - 06:59:40 PM
Really good use of digital sounds combined with that
good old analog guitar. Sounds are much clearer in this
version. Very good spatial seperation.

Aren't you about due for a new song? Still enjoyed this
one!

incredible! &mdash 04/22/05 - 11:08:15 PM
I absolutely love the music! Strange and original, which I
enjoy. Great lyrics, I would love to hear the story behind
them. I imagine the song is about the trials and rewards
of relationships and parenting. I always enjoy your music.
You are on my MP3 player! Your voice sounds Modest
Mouse like. Another great for me to download! Thx!

wonderful song &mdash 04/23/05 - 01:55:51 AM
Great use of loops here as backing... the thing that
makes it great is your voice, the guitar and all the
additional sounds you throw in, not to mention the
song itself. You do remind me a little of Modest
Mouse, yes. I like the off-coloration in the picture,
too.

A festival of bleepy stuff... &mdash 04/24/05 - 06:03:37 PM
What a fantastic mixture of sounds... just on their own -
even before you're put them against a great song. I love
the way you've put this together. Very
clever; very original.

Great stuff. &mdash 04/26/05 - 08:45:25 AM
This is one of you better mixes...and, while I never would have imagined it, the electronic touches really work for your sound. Man, the stereo effect you have going on is just great...never feels like too much, but still overwhelms you with sound. Very full. Love it!

nice original tune &mdash 04/27/05 - 08:10:19 PM
I don't know if I've ever heard anything quite like it. But
those rhythmic sounds are neat.

Good singin too.

you are in the class of something i would pay money for.
hope you can generate some interest with a company that
would distribute this very new sound

Lovely &mdash 08/17/05 - 06:59:07 AM
just had a listen to this and it is really lovely and special I
would have loved to have had a father who gave so much
thought to my being and future and had written something
so beautiful This really touches you and listening to the
music made me feel I was travelling and reaching somewhere
(does that make sense ? does to me.... but!)You know I love
that word Halliluya always have and it just always spells joy
and the want for all to have that halliluya in their life. Your
voice was different on this kinda soft gentle wanting. kind
regards chey
