Description
A song of loss. This one was cowritten. The lyrics were penned by a close friend, Ian Light, when someone he knew passed away. Done using just one mic, one take. I've always felt this song. I hope you do too.

Lyrics
Why don't you?
Why don't I?
Why don't we touch the sun?
Steal it's fun
You and I can live forever

Daisy said we'd never die
And God I know she'd never lie
What the hell just happened here
You took the one I held so dear

Walk along
Walk away
See if you can hide your pain
Life's a blast
You and I can live forever

You and I can live forever
We can take this world together
No one else has been the same
They've all had houses built on shame

And I can swear I won't be seen
With someone with those eyes so green
I can take or I can give
Forever you and I will live

Daisy said but, Daisy said but Daisy said we'd never die
Daisy's gone but Daisy's gone but Daisy wouldn't ever, ever lie

Wow
Beautiful tune.
Do I sense a fellow Jeff Buckley fan?

Wow
I'm glad you like it. Yes, Jeff Buckley is one of my all time favorites. His
lovely music has haunted and inspired me for over a decade. Thanks for the
comments.

I never vote
but since you're new here and your talents are so worthy
of a larger audience, I will score it with 8s.
One thing I did notice was when you pronounced the "p"
in "pain" there was a slight bass spike. I know...one take,
but thought I would point it out anyway.
Cheers

moving performance
Great take. You nailed it. I like the mic placement, which
makes the guitar slightly more prominent than the vocal.
The guitar is so intricate & rich. However, when the vocals
take off at then this piece is elevated, literally, to another
level. Such a sad, wonderful song.

Beautiful spare production.
This works so well with just the guitar and your vocals. Nothing else needed. This is really lovely.

It is obvious
that you felt this and are at one with your guitar. What a wonderful song...so expressive. I hear more of a Dave Matthews influence than Jeff. BTW, it seems we share some common musical favs. I'll be keeping an eye out for your stuff hammhock : )

nice tune
Good going here.
Your voice sounds very soulful.
The guitar sounds good there too.

So the combinations of the guitar and vocal work very
well. The guitar has a nice tone as well.
Very soulful. Nice ending with that strum.

Compelling vocals
Powerful live feel performance, incredibly intimate, clean
and perfectly played. Wonderful vocal variations and
emotion. It all has a fresh, improvisational feel, like a Jeff
Buckley performance. Very well done.

Great lyrics
Great job. The lyrics really conveyed a sense of sorrow and the vocals and guitar sounded great together. I like how you did that all in one take also. I thought the wailing at the end was a little weird, but other than that the song was great.
