Description:
This song is about two people who have been together for ages. It's about how one person in a relationship can suddenly find that they've changed where the other has remained the same.

It's about realising that the other person no longer feels the same way about you as they used to and that they've been living by routine through fear of change. It's about the helpless feeling that there's nothing you can do to change this and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. One side is torn between wanting to do everything they can to keep the other, whilst at the same time knowing that they have no control over the situation and not really knowing how things are going to turn out, but knowing that a decision has to be made one way or the other.

Lyrics:
You look within me, hello?, hello.
To see what's in me, don't know, don't know.

I can't think clearly this way up.
You're pushing and pulling me I can't keep up.
You find it so hard to stand up, and admit when you've had enough.

I've tried to find it, alone, alone.
While you decide which way to go.

I can't think clearly this way up.
You're pushing and pulling me I can't keep up.
It might be time to give it up. Sometimes that way is easier.

The edge is blurring, I can't see.
Makes it hard for me to breathe.

I can't think clearly this way up.
You're pushing and pulling me I can't keep up.
Don't let me drift far from the ground.
Open waters drown...
Need to turn me around...
This way up and safe and sound...
This way up and safe and sound...
Safe and sound.

Summer sadness &mdash 04/25/05 - 10:25:21 AM
Such sweet summer sounds you get in your style, as if a
window is open and the breeze is moving the curtain
gently in the background, nothing hurried, everything
casual and heartfelt. Really nice emotion in the layered
vocals, the drum hits, the close feel. The arrangement
could use a bass to finish it off in my ears, lift it from a
demo feel. Nice use of solo strings to add a layer. Very
solid free floating ballad. Solid track.

Captures the feeling &mdash 04/25/05 - 11:05:13 AM
Very emotional. Great vocals and lyrics. A great feel of
melancholy. I agree with TobinMuller that a bass line
might be a good addition. Excellent song.

Nice song &mdash 04/26/05 - 06:41:30 AM
This is a really good song. I feel like I need a moment
with just you singing, a space where everything falls out
and I can feel your thoughts. Something keeps me at a
distance in this song and I want to be drawn in more, and
that might do it. Very nice song writing and you care
about the presentation, I can tell.

Sounds Like the Real Thing... &mdash 05/02/05 - 07:22:36 AM
...just like the description you gave. Tons of feeling
coming through, and both the production and
performance are very good. Well done. Looking forward
to hearing more of your stuff.
