Description:
After reading your coments, I decided to take everything into account and remix as per your suggestions. I added a few things too. The original version has been removed.
Lyrics:
Need A Friend
Dave Placko © 2002
Sometimes I feel like I just ain't got it goin' on
And sometimes I feel like I don't even know right from wrong
Baby, if you'd be so kind just to point me in the right direction
An inclination to the point that, maybe, might change my perception
Oh, man, I could use a hand
Oh, man, I need a friend
Now, it seems most times I get it wrong, get it wrong, get it wrong,
Get it wrong even on the good days
You see, my thinker thinks that my thinkin' stinks and I think
I need to change my evil ways
But I can't do it by myself. Can't reach way up to that highest shelf
If I could get a boost up there I might just become aware of myself
Oh, man, I could use a hand
Oh, man, I need a friend
Now, it's come to my attention and I thought that I might mention
A solution
Every now and then my vision clears and I see my way into
A new dimension
We're in this all together, through storms and sunny weather
Ride it out and it gets better. Tomorrow just doesn't matter!
Oh, man, I could use a hand
Oh, man, I need a friend
Oh, man, I could use a hand
Oh, man, I need a friend

Pretty standard structure, but an enjoyable song. I'd like
to hear that boogie cranked up! [ Reply to This ]

Definitely a 70s vibe going on here. A bit of Steve Miller influence maybe? I really like your guitar tone on this song. That Mesa Boogie serves your strat well. I like the reverse reverb on your vocals. This song has a kind of desperate, empty feeling to it. Good job! [ Reply to This ]
thoughts from the bull... &mdash 05/23/07 - 06:54:40 AM
the instrumentational work on this one kicks off right from the start and sounds great. it backs off a little bit in impact when the vocals come in, which isn't bad because it leaves room for the vocals. drums and bass sound great! that guitar is sweet!
the lyrics and the vocal delivery sound terrific. getting it wrong, even on the good days... total quotable! hehe
this is just pure good! i'm glad i got to unearth this gem! it's like one of those songs on an album that never got the airplay it deserves, but which became one of the best on the record regardless!
thanks for this one, bug67! [ Reply to This ]
