Description:
Doofy, where have you been? Well, believe it or not, this is not one of my many pending tunes. This is a stop-gap tune - you know, stop gap, like the supposed new G5's tomorrow? Stop gap. Supposedly. So, my stop-gap song is dedicated to the supposedly new stop-gap dual 2.7GHz G5's rumored to be released tomorrow. 2.5 -> 2.7? IBM's a regular Motorola. LOL
Doesn't matter. When it's released, Doofy is buying. Ok, done ranting. :P~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have no idea what you're talking about &mdash 04/25/05 - 09:27:23 PM
in the song description. But...I like this piece. I especially
like the clanking on the and of 2 in each measure. Very
catchy, unusual rhythmic device Mr. Doofy. [ Reply to This ]
Thanks. &mdash 04/25/05 - 09:34:34 PM
Thanks, Atwood. I don't think I usually have a normal description so why start now? lol
To clarify, though, most of the Mac rumor sites are speculating on new G5 releases tomorrow. Supposedly, the highest Powermac is going from a dual 2.5 to a dual 2.7 (in 10 months time). So, as you'd guess, there's a lot of whining about the lack of processor speed (and lack of dual-core), but to me, it doesn't matter. I'll be going from a 1GHz G4 (Powerbook) to a dual 2.7GHz G5. Well, it'll be in addition to my Powerbook.

Nice groove &mdash 04/25/05 - 09:43:01 PM
Me like clanky bits too. Me cant afford no twin processor
monster. Me not feeling very articulate today. Good song.

Fun, Doof &mdash 04/25/05 - 11:27:02 PM
Nice simple and fun groove, Doofy. I really like the way
you fit the flute sample in there. Needs samples of Gary
Coleman sayin "What you talking about, Willis?" in there or
maybe Scotty from Star Trek saying "Helloooo, computer".

hang in there &mdash 04/25/05 - 11:55:45 PM
not that single-core 970's suck, but i remember that 'we'll
be at 3 GHz in 1 year' promise-dual cores would have
been a nice make up. nice flutes [ Reply to This ]
Clankin' groove &mdash 04/26/05 - 01:50:12 AM
Good sounds....like the Georgio Moroder synths and the
clankin' rhythms... This would make a good soundtrack to
a sleazy 80's cop film.

BS &mdash 04/26/05 - 04:09:26 AM
You mean this brand new spanking G5, with a Dual 2.5 ghz, 4gb Ram, 500gb of storage space is already outdated!!??!!
And now new 2.7 ghz are coming out in only 10 months ?
Man, I gotta get cranking...
-Cheers!
The tune ain't too bad either, considering it was made on only a 2.5 ghz Mac.
A little too techno for my tastes, but you do continue to lay it out there Doof! [ Reply to This ]
Dancing G5s! &mdash 04/26/05 - 07:07:05 AM
I have the image of a computer night club where the all of the Apple G5 tower computers are dancing and clking their metal boxes together. of course their are some iMacs and eMacs about as well.
Of course the iPods are the Djs.
And where are the PC clones? Standing against the wall talking. (like I used to do in high school)

Harmoniumy bit: nice. &mdash 04/26/05 - 07:32:27 AM
I feel at one with rovert10's inart... inart.... inart..
articulate state, emt. You're very clever,, that's all I can say.
I really like the sluggish harmoniumy bit against all the
hyperactive bleepy things. Constructive criticism? Well,
you've made me feel very happy with my G4 iBook, that's
for sure. [ Reply to This ]
If you listen closely... &mdash 04/26/05 - 10:23:16 AM
to the side of your shiny new G5, this is what you would
hear! Near the beginning, I really liked your AMPed
rhythm (not SMP, but AMP, Asymmetric Multi-
Processing).. I see the two processors running in tandem,
but one is slightly out of sync, very unusual effect. Love
the flute too. G. Morodor indeed, there are visions of the
Metropolis robot dancing in my head now! Very cool, wish
I could emit music like this as a "stop-gap" measure!
ttfn,
Drakonis, hoping Tiger will purr on his old Dual 1GHz G...

wow.. The deputy is going to have all this POWER...cant
image what the music you going to make...you can
contrate on pure music making .. not waiting for loop to
load.and all the stuff that slows the process down.. and
load it with tons of effects... my.. the double D...
I bet you are excited.. NEW Toys do that...
great groove as always....this one was made on the

Wow. &mdash 04/26/05 - 04:22:07 PM
Holy super amount of votes and comments, Batman! lol
Everyone, thank you VERY much. I wasn't even overly thrilled with this tune, but the reverse always happens. When I love a tune that I made, it falls flat. When I think it's flat, it soars. :D
Thank you all again. [ Reply to This ]
wiggitybop &mdash 04/26/05 - 09:35:14 PM
loose and addictive.
some of this feels a little too 'brassy', like it needs a
little something sentimental to cool it down a little.
and this is great & engaging, btw.
cheers

dug it &mdash 04/28/05 - 01:34:41 PM
this is not the kind of music i'm into, but i really got
into this. i love that everything sounded so dry/
clean, especially that flute thing in the middle. i wish
more songs in this genre sounded like this. [ Reply to This ]

Yea! &mdash 05/01/05 - 11:10:55 PM
I like this. I have absolutely nothing intelligent to say since
I know nothing about this genre, but hey, I can appreciate
it, right? [ Reply to This ]
... &mdash 05/02/05 - 09:34:38 AM
Thanks again to all the people who continue to vote/comment on this tune. I didn't expect this tune to do so well, but that is the irony, as usual. Apparently, people (including myself) like the combination of electronica and flute. I have done a handful of songs with this combination. If you haven't heard them yet, perhaps there's some buried treasure in my never-ending supply of Doofy music. Thanks again, everyone.
So, where the f is MY effin' new G5? It's in the "preparing shipment" phase. Waiting for it to make it to "teleportation phase." [ Reply to This ]
