Description:
i had a lot of fun with this song. it comes from a real driving experience, so i guess it's honest and i tried to capture that in the song. it's another piece where i used cardboard boxes for drums and whatever loose musical junk i could think of. i hope you enjoy it! thanks for listening!

Lyrics:
A DAY FOR DRIVING
by Me and Boris the Bull

On the road for hours
I think we're making time
We're having a ball
With 17 big ole bottles of Grandma's wine

You got you're motion
Your driving is fine
Speed limit says go 60 miles
But baby, your car is going over 105!

(let's go faster!)

Maybe it's me...
and maybe it's you...
But one of us just did something
We were not supposed to do

(boo hoo hoo!)

Come on my little driver
You're looking tired
Let me take it a while
I can drive
Relax a while

CHORUS
Let's call it a day
Let's pull off the road
Tomorrow's another day
for driving

On the road for hours
I don't know the time
We already polished off
That 17th bottle of wine!

We've got 10,000 miles left to ride
We'll be home in a while

CHORUS

Let's call it a day
Let's pull of the road
Tomorrow's another day
for driving

Very nice &mdash 04/28/05 - 04:33:03 AM
I love the guitar sound on this. In fact, looking at the
list of instruments I think you're getting an amazing
sound out of everything, including the cardboard
boxes. You do some great songs, Boris. Keep 'em
coming!

for best use of a cardboard box goes to.... Boris!

Excellent guitar. Love that you used misc items for
percussion. Very imaginative with great results.

Real fun &mdash 05/04/05 - 04:19:19 AM
Your songs are always creative and darn interesting to
listen too. Vocals tops. This sounds like the blues to me,
brother, so fine

Ya drove a bit too far away! &mdash 05/04/05 - 08:19:34 AM
I like the song itself, but the backing track sounds a little
too distant and out-of-phase for my taste -- like I have
my speakers wired incorrectly. Your voice is great!

This has a wonderful feel &mdash 05/20/05 - 08:49:02 AM
Very smooth chord changes.
I wish I could offer some constructive criticism but to me
it's perfect. Okay, wait a minute...maybe add one more
cardboard box.

Grteat Sound &mdash 05/26/05 - 11:43:34 PM
In my retrospective of all your music here, I find it
amusing that this is your lowest scored song. Just shows
how meaningless those little numbers are. Let's see what
do I like about this? Your voice continues to amaze. You
are totally unique but there are just enough little
moments when you do sound like someone else. I was
hearing all kinds of stuff in this. Dylan, Beatles, Clapton.
Your falsetto is cool. Loved the chord progression, the
funky guitar sound, well you get the idea. I liked it!!!!!

great guitar &mdash 01/29/06 - 11:20:15 AM
The lead in this sounds fantastic. Love the vocal too. Great work. By the
way. On my tune BACK IN THE DAY I also use a cheap, beat up old
acoustic nylon string guitar for the electric lead solos. Surprising results.
Check it out.
