Back To My Roots

Description
Had to go back to the basics and base of all rock and roll and play a little blues. I wrote the lyrics to this song while playing my guitar on the stern of the last ship I worked on in the Indian Ocean. Just a little Jam about "BLUES" working, money, and the X. (The picture is of me working on the main engine on our ship) I thought it was appropriate due to the lyrics.

Lyrics
"Deep Sea Blues"

I was shook down
drinking in public the other day

Yeah I was shook down
cops wouln't let me get away

Well I was feelin' so good
till my baby left me astray

She said ta get the hell out
be gone by the end of today

I said get the hell out?
What for Anyway?

She said you drink to much
and you spent up all your pay

Well doctor, doctor I need a fix
A budwieser and some cancer sticks

I'm going down
Down Alcoholics way

I got two cent's a dime
and an intoxicated mind

Well my moneys gone
and I'm back out to sea

yeah my moneys gone
and I'm back out to sea

Well a sailors life
will have to do for me

And now I'm hot and sweaty
turning wrenches all day long

yeah I;m hot and sweaty
turning wrenches all day long

I got the deep sea blues
cause sailing ain't no cruise

Yeah...

Good groove
Excellent guitar work. I'd maybe pan the guitar a little
more to the left. Cool vocal and lyrics. First time I've hear
oceanic blues. Good stuff!

love that....
gritty tone on the right channel.......and the left channel riffs
were a nice contrast......with some work on the mix and
some better drums this will be a winner.....

(REPLY) love that....
Hey Mcboy, thankyou for stopping by. I very much agree I would love to
spend a little time and rework this one. I have just been caught up in a little
fret burner since your last release of Slingers. Keep the music comming and
thanks for the suggestions. Much Appreciated

Way to flex...
...your blues muscles.

Nice chops. Would like to hear a deeper sounding, heart-thumping bass line to really get the rhythm pumping.

You might want to check out some drum loops, if you're not happy with your drum work...or open it up to a collaboration...get a little help from your (Macjams) friends...Know wha' a mean? Wink, wink....*Nudge, nudge?
