Mungo's Number

Description
This is a collaboration with Mungo. He basically agreed to let me add some keyboard work to his exquisite original, "Number." (http://www.macjams.com/song/song_profile.php?lid=9567) Jim Bouchard has recorded and posted another version titled "Numb and Number." (http://www.macjams.com/song/song_profile.php?lid=9662)

This is my first foray into ambient electronica. I enjoyed both previous versions of "Number" so much, I asked Mungo if I could do my own. For better or worse, he agreed. I have tried to maintain the integrity of the original; nothing has been taken away. Only some considerable additions have been made. Thanks Mungo!

Beautiful
Thank you. The additions that you've woven in are beautiful strands that sounds like they are part of the original fabric. (How's that for stretching a simile? :))

Inhale... 2, 3, 4, 5, exhale... 2, 3, reapeat.
I've been running around a bit this morning trying to keep on schedule. I put this piece on as was working. I can tell you that I felt noticeably more relaxed as the song played. The additions are folded in wonderfully and really work well to enhance the atmosphere. The piece has a slightly different character than the original, more fluid or organic. Nice!

Tom, your additions really work brilliantly in this. Very relaxing, with enough variety to keep it interesting the whole way through.

Great team work!
Tom and Bill, great job.
This is genuinely a wonderful piece with high praise for both players. Bill's bed has such a zen vibe, that everyone wants to work with it. And Tom, of course, your touch, is as always is right on the mark, fitting so well into the existing performance. I'm standing and applauding

Great team work!
Thanks, Tom. I know you are also interested in adding to the original. I am
looking forward to that. Mungo inspired several people with "Number,"
including me.

Tasty Number
Subtle but well-thought out additions... I liked the
acoustic guitar plucks and rich synths. You've added a lot
of decimal places to the original number, or maybe more
accurately, I should say it is now a bigger number.
Overall, Mungo's piece is thoughtful and beautifully
structured, and you've added a nicely textured fabric on
top that fits very nicely.

I must have been 'hiding'....
...when this song was posted, because I myst it...
Wow. Lovely tiers of sound, cascading....drifting, rippling, shimmering.
The additions, as it's been said in previous comments, are seamless and woven so skillfully into the original fabric of the piece.
Very, very nice.

( I have the .band file of Number, waiting for my own interpretation, thanks to your bringing it to my attention, Tom.)

Again....Lovely.

Thanks, Mysti, for coming out from under the table long enough to give this
old number some love. I look forward to hearing you do what I think will be
the 5th version? (Mungo's, mine, Jim Bouchard's, katchoolik's...) It is a lovely
piece to work with.
