Lyrics:
The Line

I've been on the Line
all of the time
all of the time

I'm drinking beer
every year
every year

I'm alone
don't use the phone
don't use the phone

Jim's got my card
I'm workin' too hard
I'm workin'

Say goodbye to old Jim Larkin
when I'm gone
when I'm gone

Do it for me...

Hardware:
My old Fender acoustic, pencil, perc loops, piano loops, nondescript mic. Oh yes, my mac.

Software:
GB1, MidiKeys

awesum. The vocals are absolutely incredible! The chorus
guitar compliments the mood perfectly. Hell yeah. My only
critique would be to lose the piano loop and serve up a
guitar bridge instead. Thx fer sharing this one.

Great advice! I had thought about pulling piano for guitar.

I'm going to let it simmer for a while and revisit it when the moment is right.

I've got to clean my pallet.

Still nice &mdash 05/10/05 - 11:06:25 PM
I miss the electronic sounds featured high in the mix, but
I was a minority in that camp. Still like the contrasts
between the more electronic sound and the human sound
of the piano and the guitar.

The only thing I'd offer up is on the ending. There's this
Dire Straits song, On Any Street, that has a real slow vibe
for nearly the whole song and then just launches into this
really uptempo groove. Might be worth doing that with
this. Then again, it's perfectly fine the way it is. It has a
nice hopelessness to it.

I'm sorry, I can not listen to this. &mdash 05/29/05 - 01:45:45 PM
Please redo the vocals. What note is "line" in the first line? Or
should that be "what notes"?

Respectfully, I was scooping, etc the note. I think I will redo the vocals to see
how they can be played with.

mmmm (with a flared nostril) &mdash 07/22/05 - 12:18:49 AM
Ahhh.....Beeeer.....sound familiar?! Just kidding! I like this one too. I do like this version better than the first, fits my taste more....but you already knew that. I like the vocals, a nice change from the regular old vocals that we are all used to hearing day in and day out. It's nice to hear your voice (:

Thanks for the great comments! I am aprehensive when it comes to playing
with my voice. I'm glad you like it!

I haven't grown out of that beer thing.

I think I liked version one better. &mdash 04/03/07 - 06:17:17 PM
This still has the beeping, and I didn't like the piano solo. Perhaps a guitar solo instead as skipper suggested.
