Description:
This is a song written by Jack Miller (dadai) who laid down the instrumental foundation in GarageBand and recorded the original vocals. Then Rich came along to brand the song with his vocal stylin'. Please see previous mixes of Dreamers Like Me on Jack's song page: http://www.macjams.com/song/song_profile.php?lid=7082 and on Richard's song page: http://www.macjams.com/song/song_profile.php?lid=7208

In this version, Schletty re-recorded parts of the lead vocal and removed most of the vocal harmonies (because they weren't right). Guitar embellishments by Bill Furner (thetiler) really make the song.

Lyrics:
.

Dreams are for dreamers like me,
Dreaming each day of what could be.
Wondering where you're staying tonight,
Dreaming of still holding you tight.

Dreaming of how our love was so strong,
Wondering how it all went so wrong.
Dreaming of you and me,
Dreaming that we still can be.
Praying that you'll come back to me.

Dreams are for dreamers like me,
Dreaming each night of what could be.
Laying here hoping you are all right,
Knowing somehow we'll make this thing right.

Wishing that you'd forgive me once more,
Dreaming that you'd come back through that door.
To regain what is lost,
I would pay any cost.
Just to have you back with me.

-Instrumental-

Dreams are for dreamers like me,
Dreaming right now of what can be.
Wondering if your're wondering too,
Hoping there's hope for me and you.

Dreaming of you dreaming of me,
Knowing somehow you still believe.
That you love me too,
Just like I love you.
And some day this dream will come true!

Warm and wooly.. &mdash 05/08/05 - 03:01:24 PM
this fits like a comfortable arran jumper...makes me feel
like I should be living by the Cornish seaside making my
living wittling pieces of wood into beautiful figurines! This
is a lovely tune, great vocals and guitar as per usual and
the flute is a nice touch...

Nice guys to work with &mdash 05/09/05 - 07:20:53 PM
It is really been fun working with Richard and Jack.
They are pleasant people to work with. Plus, they love music
and have a great dedication for MJ. As I get to know them
more, it seems they have talents I never knew, they keep
getting better and better. I think Jack sings this song with a
lot of sould and the song has a real solid pop type flavor to
it. Thanks for letting me be in on this.

Sorry &mdash 05/09/05 - 07:25:19 PM
Richard
Sings this, before it was jack, they seem very similar but both
just doi it so nicely.

Thanks so much. Both blended so well I hardly noticed.

Minstrels &mdash 05/11/05 - 05:33:07 AM
It is so cool that you Macjam guys have formed a virtual
band. This is a very good song. Reminds me of the
polished sort of folk music done just before rock and roll
took over the radio. You are wonderful minstrels, all.

EdensEve,

Thanks for giving the song a listen and a comment. It is a neat experience to work with Richard and on this song with tiler to come up with a nice tune. We just like making music.

If you haven't realized yet, our aim is to take back the radio airwaves from the
heavy rockers. :-)

Thanks for your comments, FB

Nice mix.... &mdash 05/13/05 - 04:44:26 PM
Good question..."how did we do that?" Logic Express, careful panning in
stereo space, and dumb luck. Thanks for the listen and comments.

Very pretty.... &mdash 05/14/06 - 01:20:56 AM
and evocative. Excellent vocal by Richard. Lovely guitar work. The sound
takes me back to the folk scene of the early 60's. You guysare so good
together. Thanks for sharing this.

Be well!
