Description:
This morning in church, one of my children's choirs (the "Joy Singers") performed a special Mother's Day song that I wrote, called "Love LIke No Other." You're hearing 19 kids, ages 7 and 8 (and one 9-year-old).

The piano was recorded by me on a Clavinova, and then the MIDI file was cleaned up using Yamaha XGWorks, and was finally imported to iTunes after a few more audio steps. (This accompaniment track was made in my Before-GarageBand days.)

The audio from today was captured with my portable MiniDisc recorder.

The picture shows our "official" group shot last fall. These kids are just a bit taller now. The one on the bottom row, furthest away from me, is one of my own offspring.

Kids, you all sounded great. Thanks for making this a great way to begin Mother's Day.

Lyrics:
"Love Like No Other"

Verse one:
Arms to hold me when I cry
A voice to sing me a lullaby
Lips to kiss the hurt good-bye
That's my mom.

Hands to fold, to teach me to pray
Leading me in the narrow way
Teaching me to gladly obey
That's my mom

Chorus:
Mother, Mother, love like no other,
except for the love that comes from above
Children all over the world soon discover,
the precious gift of mother's love.

Verse two:
Mother shows me how to give,
how to be humble and how to forgive
Mother is showing me how to live, that's my Mom.

Chorus

Bridge:
Mothers are gifts from heaven above,
mothers are how we first know God's love
Mothers are here to show us the way,
She is the reason that we can all say:

Chorus

Youngset Macjammers! &mdash 05/08/05 - 10:52:03 PM
Absolutely Adorable. Great writing, John. You are quite the communicator. The lyrics are easy for the youngsters to understand as well as sing. Spendid piano work, as always. Those little voices can soften the hardest of hearts. Bravo to you and the youngest Macjammers. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Scorp.

The recording quality is not pristine, but I think it captures the spirit of the
event.

Great Job &mdash 05/11/07 - 04:07:33 PM
Hi John,

Great job. The kids did really well, and the music also was well. I would like to do something similar at my Church - is there any way you could send me an accompaniment file?

Thank you for your work, and thanks for sharing!

Sorry, I just now saw your kind comment. Probably too late now, but I can send you the accomp. track if you like.
