Lyrics
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done, well
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
The very first teacher I had taught me to love somebody
Taught me everything I need to know to make it thru hard times
That's my Mama for ya (always thinking about somebody)
That's my Mama for ya (let me tell you a little something 'bout my Mama)
I saw her one night as she knelt down to pray (begging our Father)
To give her the strength to carry on
Especially now that Daddy's gone
That's my Mama for ya
If ever I'm feeling low, low
That's my Mama for ya
Mama I love you so
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done, well
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
I remember growing up
I gave you a lot of flack
But you didn't take no lip from me
You put a strapping to my back
That's what you did and
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the discipline you gave to me
For all the values I possess you see
You taught me how to reach for the sky
Said whatever I do always aim high
Took me from a boy to a man
Believe you me Mama, now I understand
If ever I'm feeling low, low
Mama I love you so
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done, well
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
I wanna thank you Mama
For all the things that you have done
I wanna thank you Mama
For spreading all of your love, hey
Mama you mi love and Mama you mi need
Oh Mama you're lovely indeed
Mama you mi love and Mama you mi need
Oh Mama you're lovely indeed
Mama you mi love and Mama you mi need
Oh Mama you're lovely indeed
Mama you mi love and Mama you mi need
Oh Mama you're lovely indeed
Chorus Adlib to fade
For all the things that you have done, well

What a wonderful tribute to your mom. You guys (I
assume there are several) are putting up some of the
tightest, harmonic vocals! And that groovin' rhythm...
you got me dancing at my desk. Your songs like this
one and the 12th of Never take me back to that era
when motown and soul were king. Especially
reminds me of the Philly sound from the sixties and
seventies (Styistics, Delphonics, etc.).
