Lyrics:
Meaningless

Fish toast miles to taste
Lean for boast in those tan haste
Door foot rant, dough coelocanth.

Dishcloth tree sloth
Frosty spot

Hose tarry hand unwind
Meat cat fair on basting rind
We fat may, mat spittle ray

Dishcloth tree sloth
Frosty spot

Birdie burden adobe bode
Feather fairy batty road
Fault ick mess, all pearly press

Dishcloth tree sloth
Frosty spot

When the song window opened, I read the description
without seeing the lyrics and I thought to myself ... hmm, I
wonder what lyrics could change without chaging the
meaning?
And then I heard the song.
Kind of a cool, jazzy, popsicle toes, breezy type vibe
going on here. Very enjoyable.

Many takes.

The trick is to try to announciate and sing it like you mean it, while it really
doesn't have any meaning.

thoughts from the bull... &mdash 05/21/05 - 06:41:01 PM
i had fun listening to this. the lyrics reminded me of an
old syd barrett song called "Word Song," where he, like
you, just sort of strings words together to create an
unusual tale.

musically, it's very smooth and bouncy. i noted a bit of
hissness, but that could be my speakers. the guitar work
is nice and easy on the ears. it's just a shame it ended so
soon. it could have gone for a bit longer and i'd have been
tapping along to it.

* note: i picked this up from your thread "Sadly." sorry you
got a bomb. grr.

Thank you Boris. Is that before or after Syd's "clinical" period?

Fun tune &mdash 05/22/05 - 12:28:53 PM
cool guitar work.

Beats me what that shaker is doing halfway. It's too loud, the
rhythm doesn't mesh. Hm.

Thank You! I've been working on my guitar stuff. It's a slow process, but
occasionally I'm inspired.

I added the shaker to give it a little texture. I thought the rhythms added a
syncopated feel. Guess I should just do it myself rather than using loops.

Fish named Bob &mdash 07/22/05 - 12:28:49 AM
I had to comment twice--definitely my favorite! Sort of a Richard Cheese meets Jack Johnson vibe! Who knew a song with such random words could produce such a great tune. Two thumbs up. Just goes to show--a song is only as good as the feelings from where it originates.

This is my first post on the site and the first place I headed to was the
poetry section. Hmm, yes this is a jazz piece but I came over here after
enjoying your "Dark" poem (which I will comment on shortly!). Doadars
Uncle, I really enjoyed this song. It is uplifting and wonderfully smooth
musically. Definitely a toe-tapping song as others have said. Lyrically,
it is a lot of fun and definitely original in that you have created your
own words to make sounds that compliment your jazzy melody. A poet
friend of mine became famous writing this sort of thing. You never
know!

Thanks poetcindy!

This was fun and slightly impromptu. But I wanted to write a song with the
word "coelocanth," being that it was believed extinct. Long live the
coelocanth!

Thanks for listening!

Deep meaning! &mdash 07/12/06 - 02:07:20 AM
Well, maybe not, but there is meaning in the meaningless... I just don't
know what it is! I do know that I really enjoyed this song, though. The
vocal delivery is smooth, and sung with conviction--great job! The
overall production is fine, but for me the best parts are the words and the
way you sing them.

Hey Clark!

Thanks for stopping by this dusty song! The lyrics probably hold some sort of
subconscious meaning?

Perhaps there should be a genre category called "Quilt."

Eliot &mdash 07/21/07 - 05:17:01 PM
"O piddle, piddle, the sound of a riddle," wrote T.S. Eliot. Your playful lyrics remind me of some of his work. But vocals are really not my specialty. My thing is instrumentals. And I really dig what you're doing on the guitar. I feel that it fits the lyrics very nicely. Just imagine Prufock scuddling along the beach with an acoustic. Hmm. Do I dare or do I dare! :-)

Thanks Ron &mdash 07/21/07 - 05:26:09 PM
Yeah, I think the vocals were more of just another lead instrument. Less focus on content, more on sound and syllable. It was fun to do. I like the instrument portion of this, too!

Thanks,
Doug
