Welcome to the world of high energy punk ska brought to you by Moe Train.

First of all...

I'd like to thank everyone for making Moe Train the #1 punk artist of all-time on ACIDPlanet!

I consider it a huge honor. It's great that people are open enough to listen to music which is outside the genres which dominate ACIDPlanet (electronica/hip-hop). It's that kind of openmindedness which lets people think beyond genre boundaries and expand their thinking. It's great to be working with so many different musicians from such a diverse genre collection.

Recently, opportunites have "come a knockin'.". Two of my tracks will be featured in "Gangster Pranksters," a comedic gangster movie being produced in the UK. The upbeat ska track, "Hey Baby!" was chosen to be the end title track for the movie, and the "Unfinished Punk Instrumental" will also be utilized. The film will be shown in festivals across the UK. If you have the opportunity to see the movie, go check it out!

Presently, I am in the process of recording my first solo EP, tentatively entitled, "Oblivion." There will be 4 or 5 songs on this EP which will only be my punk and ska work. In my releases section of my site, I have listed several of the songs which will be included.

I am actively seeking label support as I get nearer to the point where I will be releasing the EP. Any label representatives who would like to discuss possible representation, please contact me at MoeTrain@verizon.net. There are reviews listed with each track, and it will give you a fair idea of the perception of Moe Train's music. I am very excited at the prospect of working with a great label, and would work very hard at pushing it as far as it would go... and then PAST that point...

Music Background Supercharged, rocket-powered punk ska, with a hint of reggae. It's gotta be full of energy, and it's gotta be rock. Thoughout the years, I've listened to so many different artists that my music is a fusion of all of it. Punk, Ska, Reggae, Hip-Hop/Rap, Rock, Metal, Electronica, Latin... It's all in there somewhere. Sometimes, certain genres are more prevalent than others, but whatever I feel at the moment of musical conception IS what is born. (Whoa. Where did that come from?) I've played live many times, but there are so many special moments that it's hard to choose one. I've been onstage at Warped with thousands of people in the crowd, sang at sold out Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Goldfinger, Dropkick Murphys, Suicide Machines, Less Than Jake, Dance Hall Crashers, Reel Big Fish, and other shows which have slipped my mind... There's nothing like being in front of a "sea" of people and performing. It's a different type of rush that you can't get from anything else. When you're up in front of a ton of people, or even just a few friends, you can feed off of their energy in a way that is truly only explainable if someone else has experienced it. The feeling of singing one of your own songs and seeing people in the crowd singing along with you word for word is truly one of the most amazing feelings in the world. Not THE most amazing, but it's up there! If anyone uses MySpace.com, look for MoeTrain in the artist's section to add me to your friend list!
Music Skills INFLUENCES: Bob Marley without a doubt is my most powerful influence as songwriter/performer. The passion which is emitted from his music is unsurpassed in my eyes. Also, from being in a punk/ska/reggae band... That has a huge influence in all that I write. However, in trying not to lock myself down to a genre, I'm always listening to new music to expand my horizons. Here are some of my musical influences: The Hon. Robert Nesta Marley, The Beastie Boys, Coheed and Cambria, Chromeo, Rancid, Sublime, The Suicide Machines, Pennywise, Atreyu, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Zack Attack, Alkaline Trio, Andrew W.K., Against All Authority, Bad Boy Bill, Black Belt Jones, Blink, Brand New, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Celia Cruz, Cypress Hill, Dashboard Confessional, Flogging Molly, DJ Dan, DJ Moe Train, Dolemite, Dr. Dre, Dropkick Murphy's, Eazy E, Elephant Man, Flogging Molly, Elvis Crespo, Felix Da Housecat, Frank Sinatra, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic All-Stars, House of Pain, Ice-T, Goldfinger, The Transplants, The Postal Service, James Brown, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kemuri, La Maquina, Left Behind, Less Than Jake, Lil John, LL Cool J, Ludacris, The Mars Volta, Ma$e, MUM, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Neptunes, THE NEW VICTIMS, NOFX, Norah Jones, Andrea Bocelli, N.W.A., Outkast, Ozomatli, OPERATION IVY, The Stray Cats, The Used, P.
