Sad but true.
Creeps everywhere! They will never relent! Their anti-pop anthem was ripped, if one has ears to hear, it's there. The money in music is in the publishing.
Don't steal the melody and the arrangement! This is actually a great lesson.

This issue is a not as isolated as it may appear. It is not uncommon for writers to shop tunes with known audio files to prevent their getting into copywrite trouble.
PMac sat on his tune "Yesterday" for a while to make certain he really wrote it before it was released. He doubted he wrote the thing, fearing he had appropriated something he had heard subconsciously, or so he has written.
George Harrison famously lost the publishing for his tune "My Sweet Lord" in a court case.

If yer gonna steal something, at least write yourself a setting and a melody line... Try Bob Dylan and Jimi Page for inspiration in this effort. Jimi Hendrix's ability to adapt music he would listen to, to his own designs, is legendary, check him out.

Greatest thief all time? Brian Wilson, hands down, he was inspired by every good tune he ever heard, he exploited new ideas, and he acted on instinct. If a tune was good Wilson was the tops at identifying the qualities that made the song good and he would file that idea away and use it in his own tune later.

Same kinda story in the news again? Ed Sheerans apparently is a poor thief as well.
What a great time to be alive!
