Description
Well I've chosen about 15 tunes to concentrate on and I'm mixing and Mastering my little brains out over here. This is the 10th song on the forth coming album. (Do they still call them albums?) I'm suffering from serious ear fatigue so honest critiques are welcome as always.
I originally envisioned Brooke Benton (Rainy Night In Georgia) singing this but alas he is gone. So maybe I'll submit it to Macie Gray. In any case this version still has the ruf reference vox. If anyone has an interest in having a hand at the vocals, lemme know and I'll post a No Vox version or better yet I'll send you the GB file. thanx, Moptzar.

PS. on that note: If anyone is interested in playing engineer to my stuff, PLEASE let me know. It truly is a wholly different art form of which I know so little.

Lyrics
Dear Friend,

I’ve been longing just to hear your voice
... to hear you’re voice again
I’ve been longing just to hear your voice...

& I’ve been falling lately
it feel’s I fell right off the face of the earth
and there was no one there to break my fall

( feel’s I fell right off the face of the earth
and there was no one there ... )

I’m sorry that I laughed at you
I was sorry the day that I left you
somehow maybe I thought we were through
& just today I thought I’d curl up and die
Locked in my bedroom I was high and dry
without a friend at all
that’s when I got your call
Dear Friend.

Hi Moptzar
Is this a remix?
Good melody. I really like your singing.
The drum fills were a little confusing at times to my ear.
The silent pause near the end could use something to
keep the tune connected. Hope this helps.
cheers

Hey
I needed this one tonite. Real calm mood sets in. Nice
soothing vocals. Sometimes you just gotta here someones
voice. Well done. Liked to hear more from u.

Your very cool song art first caught my eye. (I realize I
missed your song when it first came out and didn't discover
it until after Labor Day.) I dig the whole feel, the use of
electric piano. I like the rise at the end of the verse, as if it is
leading somewhere, like the expectations of the singer, yet it
only falls back into the theme. The whole progression is
nice, nice layer of sounds, nice vocal performance. Maybe
too much reverb, but the mix creates a sense of out-of-
balance, like it is a hodge-podge of spaces and instruments,
and doesn't cohere in my ears. It would be worth to try a
different mix, cuz this song is great.
