Description
Somthing that goes along with some other stuff, lyrically, I'm dinking with. Got a little carried away on the solo, so keep that in mind.

Inspired by a complete and utter lack of sleep, a healthy dose of paranoia, and a general feeling that, yes, there really are people out there after other people.

This one's as much a work in progress as everything else I post, so comment freely. Looking for some imput and as always it is appreciated.

Lyrics
It's four o'clock and I can't sleep
I'm too tired to dream, I can't count more sheep
Lately I feel I'm running out
Like I lost my bout, like I can't find my feet
You stand above me but you wear no frown
You're just grinning down, but I'll get up again
I may be worn but I've got a thought,
That I'm not bought, that I'm walking out the door

Show me yours and and I'll show you mine
Say you know what's best for me
Sunshine comes around and I feel fine
Standing clear as the wind blows down the trees

Is it getting better?
Or am I just sold out?
Is that light and oncoming train?
Or have I just gone insane?

Cross the wires and hit the switch
Be prepared to ditch when things go wrong
Wind blows cold and time stands still
Like I'm running up hill, it's just too far to go
Clock strikes six and and I'm wide awake
But I'm feeling fake, crisp as a desert rose
Tie the anger back once more
Just to keep the score from getting out of hand

Show me yours and and I'll show you mine
Say you know what's best for me
Sunshine comes around and I feel fine
Standing clear as the wind blows down the trees

Is it getting better?
Or am I just sold out?
Is that light and oncoming train?
Or have I just gone insane?

Could be a good song, but....
Nicely played, the arrangement is somewhat unsurprising but
solid, it sounds like a decent song.....

.....but......

your vocals are quite out of tune. Is your monitoring
adequate while you're singing? Maybe think about a guest
vocalist?

Thanks for the comments Vic. The answers are no and yes. My monitoring is
not what you'd call high quality and, yes, I've more than often entertained the
idea of a guest vocalist. I'm trying to find that medium of what songs work for
me and which don't. This one ended up not as intended, or at least not as
originally developed on the arrangement. I liked it, but... it's a work in
progress. Geez. How's that for selling it? Thanks again.

I got this music bug a long time ago and tried to do something about it, but nothing ever seemed to pan out. Too many egos and not enough money for a meandering rhythm guitarist — as Tom Petty says, I like leads, but I really like rhythm guitar. ... [see more]
