Burned (Again remix)

Description
This is a remix of Burned that was posted last week. The feedback I got indicated the song was too repetitive and as such, too long. So, I've mixed up the arrangement and slimmed down to near 5 minutes. Let me know what you think... and as always, the GB2 archive is available on my website. Please note that I have removed the eariler GB2 archive and replaced it with the remix. :)

There ya go!
Almost had a Who - Babba O'Reilly thing going in the
beginning (which I didn't catch the first time around), but
clearly changed into some oustanding. Much better tune with
tighter production and great balance of pitches and tones.
Much better volume on the kick drum! Feels like it all fits
together much better! Good job!

WOW again....
I REALLY like this one. The intro really pulled me in - and the
deeper I got into this one the more it kept grabbing me! Very
cool feel. I like the beat transitions and engineering. Very
good job! Downloading as I speak!

Well done!
Wow! This remix is a great improvement to the original.
The redundant nature of the original is (thankfully) gone;
this one stays fresh the whole way through.

I love the intro, the way it builds before the beat finally
comes in. The new synth melody you added is fantastic
as well. I'm also glad to see that the piano parts seem to
remain largely unchanged; they were the strongest part of
the original, in my opinion.

I commend you for doing a great job of reworking the
original track. I think this remix is what the song was
truly meant to be. (if that makes any sense!)

Well done!
I really appreciate the second listen/chance!

;-)

I've been dry on ideas for the past few weeks but I hope to get back to quite a few of these tracks and polish -- as well as extend -- those ideas.

Really nice, mellow track
This is a really nicely done track. I also heard the Baba
O'Reilly reference right off the bat (I guess those of us
who catch it are showing our age ;-D). The piano blends
very nicely with the synths and other instruments, and you
did a really good job of blending what I think of as
classical styling with the contemporary.

The song as a whole sounds very "complete". I never felt
like there was a place that needed something to fill a gap
or that was getting into "musical overload" with too many
beats and harmonies happening at once.

Well done!

Thank you so much!

I really enjoyed tweeking this one and taking feedback from the prior version to arrive at this remix.

awesome - have you snapped all the notes to grid? could be a couple slightly out, might just be me being tired and hearing things though!

i really like the feel-good atmosphere you create at 02:33! i'd have liked a little more bass EQ-wise, not necessarily more kick though.

the break at 3:04 is lovely - great ethereal pads you've got going there, and those filter resonances work really well.

love the track, and I'll be looking out for more!

I've been noodling around with music since I was in high school. It all started with a air powered organ and having a piano around as a small child. I never had lessons other than to learn trombone. Now that I have a Mac and access to GB there is ... [see more]
