Description
This song has gone through a number of titles, the first of which being "Twelve Easy Steps." Well, the steps turned out not to be so easy but this was a constructive outlet for me. The song may be a little moody but I think a hopeful theme resolves itself in the middle of the piece.

emotional
Thanks, Pelican. I appreciate the positive feedback right off the bat. It's a
little intimidating posting music here for the first time. By the way, I'm
impressed with the two songs you've posted. Thanks for sharing!

Must confess...
I've been waiting for you to post a track b/c I liked your
name and was curious to hear what your "sound" was.
This was very bright and uplifting. Thanks for sharing!

enjoy listening to this
This is very pleasant to listen to. Like those piano chops, like
how you gointo the violin symphonic-synth part. This has a
lot going on it. Lots of stuff in there for sure.

Reminds me of John Tesh which I adore!

Thanks for sharing

pretty piano
delightful to listen to! The only things that bother me a
little bit are the handclaps and the abrupt ending.

Like that piano
The piano keeps me interested, but you've mixed in a lot of great accompaniment... I like the backing strings, for example. The handclaps didn't work for me... I guess I'd prefer more drumbeats during those parts. But that's a minor point, because this is a cool tune.

Nice
track here.
I'm not so sure about the handclaps either, however the
piano playing is lovely and I do like the strings & synths
mixed in. Not hot on the organ it seemed a littel out of
place.
Lovely melody overall,
for a first track posting this is very nice indeed.
look forward to hearing more from you.

Oh and welcome to Macjams.

good first try
Thanks, Wombat. Apparently the handclaps are everyone's least favorite part. Could you elaborate a on the weakest parts of the song? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

you playing the kb?
Nice piano work. I like moody, in fact I look for music that
has some kind of emotional connection to the listener. I
think this is pretty good in that respect, nice melody, and I
like the upbeat change in the middle. The drums and claps
were a bit loud and distracting and seemed a little odd, I'd
soften them or choose different loops or placement. The
ending was too quick, I'd slow/ritard the very end, maybe
add a few additional final arpeggios & chords? Other than
my critiquing it to death, I actually liked it, welcome to MJ!

Thanks, Drakonis! I appreciate the time you've taken to list the positive and negatives of the song. Having this forum for music is very helpful in that close associates don't always give you the most useful feedback to keep from stepping on your toes.

Car test

Would you play this in your car? Windows down? Okay if
you really like all of John Teshes music mixed in between
your favorite Yanni tracks, then yes, yes you would.

Yes, nice composition (getting tired of saying that), but
what this song needs is an edge. I don't mean a heavy
metal guitar either. It needs some more layers, different
tempo's underneath, to add complexity to the listeners
ear.

It's easy to become complacent here. Put up stuff, and
get some nice people to say some nice things about a
song you just made, dandy and fine. I am saying, what
you have is a start, now you need to push it or else your
music will end up in the piano looped graveyard, which
really is most of this site.

Just what I needed today
I've always been a sucker for moody piano pieces like this,
and it really doesn't hurt having some cool drum beats to
go with it.
That's quite the pianoplaying you got going there, but the
production could be better, I think...
The piano, to begin with, sounds a bit cold. If it were a bit
warmer it'd really boost the emotion of it.
I also thought the strings came in a bit suddenly about a
third into the song. I think they could be eased in a bit
better. But then again, that's just my opinion.
I agree with Slimmie and Perceptualvortex about the
handclaps, but the organ worked for me.
The volume of some of the drum loops - good choice on
them, by the way - was a bit loud.
But I really liked this overall. Great job!
Fav'ed and if I had my iMac - downloaded!
Welcome to MJ!

Sounds fantastic
Even if I agree with the others about the ending (so abrupt), I love this song and the piano solos really touched me. Congratulations!

Again
I listened to it several times and I changed my mind concerning the end. I just love the song. Simply beautiful.
