Description
This is a little funky number I came up with. I was going through some drum loops and the basic guitar line came to me. I added a couple other things and ended up with this. The whole song came together rather quickly and I had a lot of fun making it. I hope you share the fun and enjoy.

Almost reminds me of Sanford and Sons funktafied.

This is really funk cool !
You have me hopin and bopin in my seat.
Shoot I think I'll get my ole baseball hat and turn it sideways and hopi and
bop somemo!
That's hard to get a died-in-the-wool acoustic guy like me to do.

Cool-a-funk :)

Funkometer
redlining. Hey this is great John! The groove is smooth and foot-tappin', and your guitar leads sprout perfectly from it. Again, I'm reminded of early Jeff Beck, with a less hyperactive rhythm section. Tasty playing fershure.

Troy thanks for the compliment. I've been playing for nearly as long as I've
been a photographer which happens to be longer then I care to remember
sometimes. Thanks again.-JAC

Fonky fonky
this sounds like sooo much fun! nice guitar parts...working off each
other nicely...cool little groove.

Nitpick---actually large nitpick... needs a solid fat bass line to anchor
and propel this.

Nice guitar throughout, well done!!

you are a fine guitar player chakeres!

Fonky fonky
Thanks Ziti, coming from another fine guitarist like yourself, I take it as a real
compliment. I had fun doing the song and it came to me rather quickly. As
for the bass, It has a bass line that may not come through as much as it
should. Thanks again for the comments and really enjoy your playing as
well.-JAC

Hey John,

very nice funky grooving piece, like your playing on this one.
like your bends and little double stops.
can't beat that strat sound.

Cheers

this is funking
Thanks Johnny, I know what you mean about the Strat. I love that guitar.
Years ago I had a Floyd Rose setup put on it with a locking nut. It allows you
to really bend the strings and not loose the tuning. Not to mention the nice
whammy bar. Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it.-JAC

Love the sounds you get - great guitar work - agree with ziti about the
bass tho, needs to come way up in the mix (the bass line sounds
amazing. just needs to be bigger). Thanks for this one!

Thanks jiguma for listening and your comments. I like the slap bass and
think it works with this piece. But since I’m a guitar player I probably sub-
consciously bring the guitar forward in the mix.-JAC

The Composer said 4817 days ago (October 7th, 2005)
Initially reminds me of...
early Red Hot Chili Peppers. Something about the sound of the drums
with the slap bass...

Just a shame to me that this didn't go anywhere. Trying to add some
structure to the jam would've improved it alot for me... I don't
nessicarily mean adding a verse/chorus or something, just some sort
of overall change to the piece like a slow build up to solos or
something. Its just that at the moment, after the first 20 seconds have
played I have essentially heard the whole song. After that 20 seconds I
then started to wait for what was going to happen next... and when
nothing new happened (the change of solos wasn't that different) my
mind just started to wander.

So despite the guitar playing, this song didn't keep my attention for
very long at all. You've got some talent with the guitar, but you can't
rely solely on it, its only one part of the song after all.

Initially reminds me of...
Composer thanks for the constructive comments. My dynamic range is fairly
narrow, basically I play what I call "stream of guitar" lay down a track and
then response to, sort of like abstract painters work. My stuff generally
doesn't build; I come out running full steam and go till I drop. I'd be
interested in what you have to say about some of my other stuff. You have a
critical mind (I mean that in a good sense} so your points are well taken.-JAC

Texas thanks for listening and your comments. I've alway been an
instrumentalist and have never felt I had the skills to write lyrics. I would love
to hear a song of mine with vocals but I think that would have to be a
collaboration with someone. I'm glad you enjoyed the song I certainly had
fun making it.-JAC

Dr. I like that. alfalpha thanks for listening and the comments. I call it little
cause it came so quick. The basic guitar groove came in two takes and the
rest of the song within an hour. And then a million hours to mix lol. But
seriously I'm glad you enjoyed it, cause I sure had fun making it.
