Description
Dedicated to musicians that have to deal with back pain. Especially if they have to stand up during performances with a herneated disk and they know they need surgery soon! I don't have to stand up to perform but I feel for those that do, it musi hurt bigtime if they have a buldging disc that hits the siatic nerve.

Hmm, I know a musician like that-
and it sounds like it's no fun. Seriously, this is quite a happy sounding
piece to my ears, and I generally liked the two guitars together, except on
the unisons, there was that not quite in tune thing going on. But as
always, you have infectious rhythms, a sturdy, confident tone quality that
I admire, and I'm giving it another listen & will probably download it to my
iPod for a walking song. Thanks for posting through the pain.

Ouch
that dagger twist doesn't sound too good... but your playing does, and it sounds kind of upbeat. Hope your back heals up soon.

Ouch
I guess I get happy when I sit down and play because standing up and walking
for over 2 minuets is such a bummer :)

Thanks for posting

Straight away - nice guitar will add you to favourites straight away - just love accoustic slide guitar played well.OK am already thinking this would be a good one to listen to when I'n getting drunk out in the mountains and remembering what a bitch she was- I generally take music with me wherever I go and I'd definately take this.Would like to hear a collaboration between you and that folky fiddle guy who's name I'll have to go and find out cos my memory is so bad.I like music that can do that to me.Thanks for sharing.11 out of 10

I empathize
Great playing as usual Bill. You're a lot more gutsy than I am. When my
back acts up, I just lay around and feel sorry for myself. I just live with the
herniated discs in my back and neck; I refuse to be cut on again. I lost
alot of time at work because of it, as I'm sure you are also.

Trust in God. He will see you through it.

I guess I have to think as positvie as possible in regards to surgery. I've never
had back surgery and I hope I can get surgery, cause just walking from one
room to the other is mighty painful. So sitting down is like heaven after the
pain of the initial shock of standing most of the time. I guess I have to count
my blessing cause sitting much better than standing.

I'll email you, I guess it is really good I posted this piece, cause maybe I can
learn from you on what to be aware of with surgery.

Thanks much!

Sadly sweet...
This is such a fine piece, Bill. I think it does catch some of the
pain you are going through. The slide guitar part does have a
cry in it, especially in the minor key part of the bridge. I know
what you are going through. I was out of commission for many
months in 1992 with a slipped (bulging) disc. I had just
finished tiling a shower floor when it happened. I fell to the
floor and couldn't get up. Pain like I had never known. I couldn't
even walk for a time because it hurt so much.

Again, beautiful song you got here. Heal that back up and take
it slow.

amen Dadai

Dang tile work! It makes you pick up things the wrong way. They say life things
the right way. But how can you do that when your picking up so many things
from tile boxes to sand bags, to heavy tools transporting them from beds of
trucks to bringing them upstairs etc.

Thanks Dadai for posting.

Playing in the face of adversity!
Very hopeful sound to it! I enjoy it very much.

My neck has given me probs in the past. I went to the chiropractor.
She gave me whiplash (pain and spasms for days). I went to another
chiropractor. Success! To gain strength, I began yoga. I've had no
relapse.

Since then, I have a friend with similar issues you have. He was given
some kind of injection to help reduce inflamation. Then for PT, he did
yoga. After 6 months, he is starting to run again.

Playing in the face of adversity!
Could be the cortisone treatments at he spine area where the problem are is. I
had the years ago, I might be past that point. But anyway it is good to hear
others problems so I can better understand mine.

Thanks for posting DU

Dadai nailed it
in that the pain comes through in the minor parts and the bridge.

But overall, it's a pretty happy tune, you optimistic bugger, you. :)

loved the song art btw.

rolling stones goes classic
I'm thinking about practising my slide technique. It's very nice to listen to people who can play a good slide guitar like you do Bill.

Nice combination here with the classical guitar contra the folksy one.

Regarding the back problem.. I went half a year with such problems, and after doctors, kiropractors and physiotherapist had given up on me, I went to see a lady that gave me acupuncture. After three treatments I was OK. It was like walking on air after each treatment.
But I guess it is different in each case.

great slide
Hey Mr. T. I was in the throws of disc issues two years ago. Funny...I
couldn't sit down. I stood up for six months. Thies a great tune I love
your slide work. Very precise playing which I truly admire!

great slide
Gad, If I had to stand up for long periods of time I would not be a happy camper.
That is sure the opposite problem to what Ihave.

But sounds like you've gotten over that. Thanks for posting!

Good To Hear
You play through the pain Bill. It shows how much music means in your
life that you can still motivate yourself to play something like this when
you are hurting. It was another first class melodic ditty that you just
seem to be able to turn out like a factory. Hope everything turns out
okay on the back injury!
