I'm on my own now, your light has gone away
And buried with you, everything I had to say
So much wasting, of which I played a part
A piece is missing, it broke off of my heart

I'm trying harder to be who I should be
I try in every way that you might see
What a burden, I'm trying to fill your shoes, I lose
Still I'm hurting and feeling rather used and you knew

All it would take is a few kind words
They could replace all these years of hurt

Really good indeed Mr Roberts!!
Great song, really great singing. Like the synthy sounds you bring in,
some of the guitar sounded a little trebly in the mix but a top track

filling your shoes
this is a lovely song.

pretty personal lyrics... nicely written, too.

your voice sounds great!

would like to hear a less effected guitar at some point, but that's a minor
personal opinion.

i do like the strings and such in the back, too.

Great Tune!
This is indeed a great tune mister Molzen, Your vocals are outstanding! And the background instruments are a nice supplement to the song! If i were you i would have skipped the flanger/chorus on your acoustic guitar... The emotion in your singing is outstanding!

Achingly beautiful vocal performance
Nice job. Your singing in this song had just the right mix of need and dignity. Not easy to achieve. Some people would over-emote all the way through.

I agree with the above comments regarding the guitar. I'd lose the effects if you were to redo the track.

Also, I did find the melody a little repetitive with the first six lines. It was quite refreshing when you broke away from the melody in "What a burden..." What may help is if you sang the chorus once after the first four lines.

And your voice is so great in this that I wanted to hear more of it. Some simple Ahhing as a solo after - or even in place of - the instrumental solo (which I thought was not up to the same standard as your voice) would have been really nice.

Minor quibbles aside, congrats on a lovely song.

very much liked the tune
and the vox. The reverby/trebly guitar, not so much.
