Lyrics
Verse1.
I've been sittin here for so long
I've got the music, but I just ain't got the song.
Oh I feel so dead inside.
I count to 10, but I can't find out where I hide.
I need a remedy, from this calamity.
Somebody tell me if I'm fine.

Chorus
Cause I really wanna shine.
Whoa I really wanna shine.
I don't think that I can find,
A song that's truly mine,
so I can shine.

Verse 2.
This is a cold and lonely time.
I keep on makin up reasons why I just can't find the rhyme.
Oh I know somethin's got to give.
Somethin deep down inside of me, that's been dying just to live.
I feel it underneath my skin.
There ain't no way in hell I'm ever givin in.
Chorus
Cause I really wanna shine.
Whoa I really wanna shine.
I'd pay a dollar to a dime,
If I could only truly find,
a way to shine.

Bridge
I'm sick and tired of holdin out on me all the time.
I'm waitin for the day when I can be,
the one to shine.

Chorus
Oh I really wanna shine.
Whoa I really wanna shine.
Turn this water into wine,
cause I'm thurstin for a time,
when I can shine.
Turn this water into wine,
cause I'm thurstin for a time,
When I can shine.
When I can shine.
When I can shine
When I can shine.

Highly Professional
Expert craftsmanship. And it's not just technique. The vocals sound real instead of puttin' on the dog. Just enough lead to taste and leaves you wanting more. Production is excellent. Man, first-rate stuff. Welcome to MacJams!

You're shining now
Great work. Solid lyrics, solid production.

Great set of pipes you've got. And you really know when to hold back and when to let it all out.

Loved it.

vocals.

very cool changes
excellent mix, and just great craft. Your lyrics and vocal are truly
memorable. This is certainly pro sounding. Loved the break, the lush
strings and the edgy vocals, morphing into that huge gtr lead. Very
welcome addition to MJ.

Unreal!
I was about to leave some funny joke about you starring in the Matrix
trilogy, but then I managed to listen to your song before I decided to be
humorous...

And I was left speechless.. which is a rare occurence. This song and this
vocalist just shot all the way to the top of my all-time favorites at
Macjams, bar none! I haven't bought a CD in two years, and now I have
the urge to buy your CD when it comes out.

That says it all.

Undeniably Good
You have a terrific voice and I love the big harmonies. I admire your judicious restraint when it comes to f/x, it makes the moment of tremelo on the bridge vocal really stand out. The production too, is just absolutely stellar, an example of what to shoot for, wonderful work all around.

Ian, I love the bass on this, especially, but all the elements are just solid, solid, solid.

Awesome
Awesome song. Vocals are sweet. How the hell did you produce those background vocals. Very good have fun rock n roll. Brings me back to Mr. Big, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard days.
Ahh, that's a compliment by the way.

It's About Time!...
(With the exclamation point) was the name of a musical that I co-
authored a number of years ago and that was on track for Broadway
production with a big-name director.

Sh*t happened and it never did get its opportunity to *shine,* but if
what I hear in this tune represents what I can expect in the rest of your
work, I have a feeling your *It's About Time* WILL get that chance.

This is just excellent work, Kevin... part Stevie Wonder, Queen --- and
even the Beatles --- yet done in a manner that makes the style unique.

I'm not sure this is a *fist-pumping* anthem, but it certainly is an
anthem to the frustrations of writers who run head-on to writer's
block. Nice work turning that frustration in on itself and producing this
lyric and song.

As I write this, your song is rated at 8.64. In my estimation, that figure
is a joke. I will, for only the second time I can recall, award this song
with straight 10s.

That's how good I believe this song --- and your performance --- are.

Best of luck, Kevin. You have loads of talent. ;-) --- Joe

Thrilling
Everything is so perfect in this. Solid, balanced, wonderfully rhythmic
writing; a great hook; top notch vocals sung with emotion and palpable
experience; and your brilliant bridge is perfectly arranged, with a killer
guitar solo coming out of it. Thrilling. It lifts me up.

I would be blind... How did I miss this... this is a hit right out of the
box, and as good as anything I have heard anywhere, not just here at
MJ... you've added all the right frosting on this... you really pay
attention to the details... wow... the bridge, passion in he vocals,
completely convincing, and that solo is so right... and after all that...
way to turn the lyric... "turn this water into wine-cause I'm thirstin"

bravo
