Freedom For Me

I was inspired to write this song after listening to the great Merle Haggard's latest album Chicago Wind. If you want to hear a master do it right, listen to this album. I know some folks don't think politics has a place here on Macjams. All I can say is that this has always been a part of who I am. So you be true to yourself and I will be true to mine ownself.

Last night I heard the President on tv
He almost got through a sentence and got it right.
Talking about freedom for foreign lands,
But if you don't agree with him your a traitor
How about some of that freedom for me

I've got the freedom to believe what he says
Even though there's a lie dripping from his mouth
And I've got the freedom to have my phone tapped
And they can read my email too

And I can say everything is beautiful and wonderful
And it feels so great to be free
I can pay my taxes so they can steal them
But hey what's a billion or two
Thomas Jefferson warned us about you

Some people never see the light
They tremble with fear over what they hear
But most of it is made up bullshit
And comes around when his popularity falls

Way to go Bronco
I enjoy story songs, and you weave a very nice tune hear. Your picking
is nice, very clean roll fingerpicking! Nice flow to this!
I voted for Bush the first time, but I sure can't understand all the
money we are spending over there and not seeing such good results.
Not even sure if there were a vote that even 1/4 of the iraq's would
want us over there.

Anyway I am feeling there are going to be plenty more songs available
on the internet with respect to what is happening in Iraq. You seem to
me, do a might fine job!

Note a whole lot of people appreciate the fine art of fingerstyle guitar
and I want to commend you for making it available to us a macjams.
Keep the acoustic flag waving !

Thanks for sharing and taking the time to upload. Maybe uploading
songs to macjams like this might be more porfitable for our country
than uploading bombs to a country that seems as a whole doesn't
really care that we are there. Billions could of been spent better I
think, especially if the Iraq majority do not want us there.

Our country was built on the freedom of voting, maybe there should be
voting by the iraq's to see if they want us there.

Thanks for the nice remarks Bill! You are absolutely right on! If they took a
vote it would probably be 90% would want us gone. And you look around this
country and see all of the problems we have, especially with the Katrina mess
still in heaps all over Louisiana and Mississipi, and you bet 300 billion dollars
could have been put to a lot better use. On that Merle Haggard album, he has
a song entitled, "Rebuild America First".

Bronco is back
Good to hear a new solo Bronco track... a gritty and angry song..you
should post this up on the Neil Young site. I think we should hear a
Bronco/Jiguma collab too!
I like the intimacy of your solo performance songs...very nice

Bush and his Cronies will rest in Hell

Benn awhile, hope you are well.

Your lyrics are honest and to the point

W is a traitor to the American People and to the Allies we have left

The War in Iraq is based on lies that Cheney still spreads.

Bring the Brave Men and Women home while there are still troops to bring home

I see in the future the same ending as Vietnam, Helicopters loadding troops

and Embassy workers off the American Embassy War.

And Remmeber per Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield plus the War Generals

"There is NO Cival War in Iraq, I say B.S.

Great Work Here Bronco!

Red China is our good friend and buddy so it is okay to be a communist. Just
because they have WMD coming out of the ying yang and threten to use them on
us in no way puts them in the same category as Iraq. Hint - they don't have oil
but do have cheap labor and a large marlet fpr corporations/

As I listen to this....
....I'm looking up at the "Big Brother Is Watching You" classic propaganda
poster I have on my wall. I'm sure my name is on a list or two somewhere
in Washington, but I'm in good company.

Great tune all around. Don't worry about those who don't want to hear
political music and feel it has no place here. I don't care where the
message is posted, it needs to be heard. Thanks for this one Bronco. Well

I love to play guitar. I have been writing songs for many years and have a large catalog by this time. Songwriting is easy. Writing great songs is hard! Born in Louisiana and live in Texas. I grew up on Chuck, Jerry Lee, Elvis, Ricky, Little Richard ... [see more]
