One of my first attempts to write a song with an odd rhythm. This is a collaboration with Edwin Meijster (vocals & final mix)) and Iwan de Reus (guitar-violence).
Denny Borsboom, my friend-for-life-and-beyond, came up with the guitar-arrangement and -solo, but with him being absent at the time, I was forced to start off his solo, faking it bigtime with a synth-kinda-harpsicord.
The lead vocal performance was a one-taker....can anyone find the glitches?

Oh, might anyone wonder: the artwork that goes with it is my first attempt (again) at creating an animated gif: my head morphs into something beautiful...

Could it be? Is it me?
Don't you see I'm in need?

Purple dream is not what it seems.
Make believe, you and me.

It's like a butterfly, fly by.
Just like a butterfly, do try...

I don't know where I go,
but in the end it's just a picture show.

The butterfly can't tell me why
there is no end to it's flying by.

Plain to see it won't be me;
as we speak inside I bleed.

An excellent performance. Great rythm section, bright and powerful. Love the pace and the space. One thing stops me from reaching nirvana : the keyboards (organ, harpischord). They overload a bit the whole thing, in my opinion. Very good song, anyway.

That bass line pays for it all...
I love the line itself and love the rich tone on the bass, and I actually also really like the drums... The drums and bass together sustain a simple and compelling groove...

The guitar solo is pretty neat...

If it was me I might try just slightly thickening the lead vocal with a tight doubling or tripling... Subtle enough that you hardly notice it, but it thickens the voice just a tiny bit...

A neat and interesting tune...

Thanx a bunch
First of all: thank you all for taking time to listen and comment my song. Very much appreciated.

@Youra: you're probably right. When working alone, without any reference point (i.e. vocals, guitar), I tend to fill up every single gap.

@Karmatoburn: I must set the record straight here...all vocals are performed by Edwin Meijster. The bass-sound I used is a B3-bass (organ) patch in my Classic Keys module.

@Ed: I remember I was going for that same approach as Floyd did on Money....repeating bassline, adding just a simple count to the beat. Very good point about the lead vocals.

@Vic: I absolutely love H&O, but have never EVER been compared with them. Only thing I can think of is Edwin's vocal performance...he has that same smooth eighties kinda thing going on. Or did you mean the song (structure, instrumentation, or whatever) itself?

Long time no hear
this tune. The bass-drum combination is great. I also think the 'guitar' solo is very good as it is right now. I agree that the vocal could use a little extra, probably some harmonies would improve it. Good to hear this again ;-)
