Lyrics
When your down and out,
Feeling low,
You can pick me up and let me go.
An' if things ain't right,
I'll feel it too
You can pick me up,
An' I will show you through.

Say you want me,
Say you need me,
Say you'll see me,
Again ...

Move a little closer to me .. yeah
Share your insecurity ... yeah
Move a little closer to me ... yeah
Share your insecurity .. yeah

Nothin' serious,
Just good clean fun,
So that when you fall out with me,
It won't hurt noone.

I want you,
But you don't need me now,
Saw through you,
A window for deceit,
Smashed glass - a memory to keep.
I want you,
But you don't need me now.

When your down and out,
Feeling low,
You can pick me up and let me go.
An' if things ain't right,
I'll feel it too
You can pick me up,
An' I will pull you through.

Say you want me,
Say you need me,
Say you'll see me,
Again ...

Live?
.. nope. Never live .. I found a cassette case for the
live @ "Blackfriars" pub gig in Glasgow (8.8.92), with the
track listing - sadly no tape as yet :o( .. we did a cover of
"majesty of rock" still then and I recall ealier doing the Scotsport theme tune at an earlier gig under the pseudo "The By-kicks" though :o).. I sang lead live for the first time ever back then doing the cover of the Small Faces "Tin Soldier" .. murdered it hahahha. I remember my amp used to
overheat .. so I had a dedicated fan on it .. and you had
to compete with the espresso machine at the end of the bar
in between songs at that gig. "noone order any more coffee!"
lol.

Live?
Didn't think so.

Ah yes, "Majesty of Rock" cover was a real hoot.

We certainly must have confused some audiences by doing a cover version of the Scotsport themetune hahaha

On the overheating front, you will of course recall my overheating Ensoniq ESP sampler which used to crash a lot :-(

"espresso machine at the end of the bar" oh yeah, I can clearly recall that issue that ruined some of our quiter track - damn those pesky expresso drinkers

It's great hearing all this music
from the vault - guess I shouldn't be surprised by the depth of some catalogs - but this is really cool. Hot cryin' guitar - crazy changes in this one - neat arrangement.

Thanks bud ..
crazy changes are a bit of a thing I seemed to specialize in my earlier pieces .. Real world I wrote prior to this time-wise .. never did it with this band or even presented it to them but
you can hear the wild changes aspect of my arranging/composing in that one too. I think I've mellowed somewhat now .. ;o)

Thanks Feter
.. it was that rise (starting in the late 80's) from bands like Guns & Roses, L.A.Guns, Faster Pussycat that paved the way for the grunge scene. Different elements of some genres come back round like fashion and if different enough are seen as a new era or genre.

As a guitarist, I was glad about this return .. a welcome
shift from the earlier 80s synth pop dominance.

Nice guitar work
Interesting composition, Alan. Lots of textures, time and mood changes and some very nice guitar work.

Bands make the musical creation process so much easier. If only they would agree to sign up for the frontal lobotomies to avoid the unfortunate *differences of artistic opinion* that often seem to arise. LOL

Thanks Joe
.. I'm glad I found this one .. it's one of the few examples of a tune I wrote with time changes in it .. just happened that way .. it was great to play in a band that had the competence to play 'with' those changes .. which very much is used to reflect mood change of the lyrics .. creating an almost medoly effect .. which I always thought was interesting to use in a song, not just as 'an example' of different songs .. but to get across different mood changes within the same subject/context etc.

I agree with you on the bands - I ended up leaving to get
a steady job.. and moved to England .. that was why I left this band... we never had any disputes really I recall.

Up!
This is infused with an 'up' feeling... I'm boppin' along as I listen... I love the mood changes, it almost sounds like a medley! Great stuff!

Cool blues
Wow Alan, this is great ... wonderful mix, and a real cool feel to this. Amazing to think you have this lying in your vaults ... you should make it open to the public!

Great stuff
