Description
A first draft of something I've been toying with using just acoustic strumming. Here I have added some lead guitar, drums, bass and an attempt at backing vocals for the second half. It still needs work but I'd appreciate any feedback that would help me out or tell me just to drop it! The song is about just getting yourself sorted and finding that right partner.

Lyrics
I would see you across a room crowded so deep
Sharing a laugh or two and maybe in my sleep
I’d see you, feel you, but wake on my own
Never knowing that you might feel the same as me
You and me going home

And now I watch you as you sleep in my arms
Don’t dare to breath, don’t wake you, don’t break the spell
‘Cause every day I ask myself can this be real?
And all I do is pray that it’s true
You and me for real

And when the days are dark and life seems full of care
I know I’ll turn to you and each time you’ll be there
To hold me, enfold me, and make the darkness light
Whether rain, wind or snow, I know where we can go
You and me safe at home

And as I feel the days run through my life
I know I’ve found myself the place I want to be
It could be here or there beside you anywhere
It’s all I need to my last sunrise
You and me coming home

interesting lyrics
nice delivery with the vocal. Plus the easy feel of the guitar and drums I really appreciate. Nice on the ears!

Again, enjoyed those lyrics and music.

Thanks for sharing.

Very heartfelt love tune!

ask and you shall receive
The song has potential. OK, you asked. Most people are aittle too nice in their comments. since you asked, I will give you my humble opinions.

Drums should be simplified - try bass drum on 1 & 3 and use a little more discretion on drum fills. Great guitar sound I'd recommend fine tuning the guitar riffs. Bk vox are excellent. You could expand on them.

Current versions fades away at ending. I'd try either another part or doing something clever with the voxs the end.

Hope this helps.

Hi E-Frame Wrecker
Cool name you've got! Thanks for the honest and much appreciated feedback on this one. I knew it wasn't right and needed something doing but I was kind of stuck where to go with it. Your comment on the drums is spot on and I think giving it a different rythmic feel will set a platform for reworking and improving the whole thing. Thanks for thaking the time to help out here. I'll get on to re-recording it ASAP.
Cheers
Steve

No problem
On some songs I get stuck especially if I attempt to record the song before I have all the parts worked out. I have had good luck returning to the song with a new approach and have been able to salvage a song and sometimes turn it into one of my best recordings. Often by first changing the drums!

The name was to be used for a different more electronic project I worked on a while back. Its taken from a scientist whose name is Efraim Racker. =)

...
Cool track,it sounds very much like the old Seekers sort of style type of thing...so it is retro with a contemporary sound as well..... i like the thumpy bass line too..nice one

Love playing acoustic guitar especially in open tunings (CFCFCF being my favourite). Every so often I’ll have a go with my electric guitar and even more rarely try to sing. Fan of Bert Jansch, Beatles, Ralph Mctell, Mark Knopfler, Nick Drake etc. ... [see more]
