Why do I ever think about you,
When I know you're already gone We could
never get together
It's long since past time to go on,

We spent our lives in touch with each other
We would phone or drop a line

We could never seem to find the
When or where or how and
Now we're out of time.
We could never seem to find the
When or where or how and
Now we're out of time.

You were asking if I'd come with you
And lend to you my ear
So you could pour your honey in
And try to soothe that old-time fear.

You can tell I'm reading from your ancient letter
That made me laugh, and I had to sigh
But now I thought that it might be better
So I called to call you, but I don't know just why.

We could never seem to
Find the when
Or where or how and
Now we're out of time.

A very
personal sounding song both vocal and lyric-wise. Just the right tones in the vocals, but of course I wouldn't expect any less from either of you. The backing too is very in keeping with the melancholic mood, love it, regards M

thank you
stephen - thank you so much for asking me to be part of this. i think SinJam's piano is just beautiful - and you snagged a delicious melody out of it for us to sing. excellent bossing, boss!

stephen, your songs always touch me. you have a musical sensibility that's dear to me. the flute here is very emotive, wouldn't mind more of it! piano of course is just right. makes me think of romantic comedies when they turn more romantic than comedy: there's a heartbreak, and then comes the song, while one of them exits in a taxi ;)

And the combination of your and Anne's voices is so very warm! I LOVE it!

lovely harmonies at the end.

sad to have missed this when it first came out, but glad to hear it now...

Absolutely lovely!
So easy... so reminiscent of a truly peaceful and inwardly happy presentation from a couple of folk-singers that just would begin singing in the way a bird sings, because... it makes sense to celebrate life. Thanks. :)
