Paid to Sing the Blues

Description
So I'm in a blues band now--Whiteboy Slim. We are working on a new cd and I wrote a tune for it. Here's my version of it, just done well enough for Slim and John to listen and learn. It's all me, except the midi drum that I programmed. Funny: GB doeesn't have any drum loops in 7/8 time.

I see that my four-year anniversary here at MJ is coming up (June 9th). I've been quite inactive as of late. Have no fear though. I will soon have Logic Studio in my hands and will be posting some very good sounding rubbish this summer.

Swinging!
I like the guitar riff. A Satriani feel to it.

Great lyrics! Love the hook.

Now only if I can get paid! hehe

Great writing!

Yeah, I can see it. No doubt my years of listening to him during my university days has crept into this.

Funny...
That spoken part after the first chorus was me just (jokingly) overstating the obvious for my band buddies. Didn't really mean for it to stay in there.

Thanks for your generous appraisal!

Paid
Truth be told, I don't get paid much to pay the blues. Does anyone? But I thought it would be funny to turn the genre onto itself. Thanks for the comment!

Groovy, man
Once again, I was wondering what you have been up to!

Time goes by... and before long, my thoughts drift to pooey... "pooey" "pooey"... I can hear it echo off in the distance... in the corners of my mind... what? a sign? has my call been answered?

Anyway, this is a choice cut of tangy marinated steak.
As always, I look forward to more.

Did you get a new computer... an iMac, perhaps?
If so, we will have to video chat sometime.
Then we can unleash our families on each other.

Corners!
And Stun is oft in the air around my home. My kids will (to this day) spontaneously sing "Pocket Lizard." And I too wonder what you're up to.

I have a new macbook (well, 8 months old) and I will also be acquiring a brand new macbook from my school board (with Logic Studio on it I may add).

Video chat--yes indeed. I'm not much of a video chatter (or any other kind of chatter), but for you Stun, absolutely.

Very catchy
I can definitely hear this being played in a dark, seedy honky tonk not too far from here, on the other side of I-55.

Congrats on the upcoming 4-year Jamiversary.

You're biting off the lyrics, tho' (you know me, I'm a picky sod)
And I'm afraid the pic makes you look like some prog-rock nerd; where's the wig?
