Analogapalooza! Cool idea.

This will be my first submission to MacJams.

I can't really pin down the exact date, but this song was created back in about 1993 I think. I was about 17. Back in those days I had a guitar and bass but no drums, nor did I know how to play them. I sometimes put drums on my songs using a cheap keyboard, sometimes I just banged random things around, or sometimes I didn't bother. This is one that doesn't have a drum track. I have always wanted to redo this one (and a bunch of others) but never got around to it yet.

As for genre... I guess it's definitely rock. What else it is, who knows.

So... I have a bunch more like this... Any interest?

Once more like all the others
I guess I know what's wrong
there's nothing new for me to say
she was just like all the others
she didn't stay too long
before going her own way
I wish I knew
Born to suffer alone
not what I mean to say
They'll suffer alone
Not what I mean to say
Together we suffer alone
I'm driving home again
this road is much to long
how come I never see she's right
Yeah I'm going home again
Just like a prison cell
I might as well give up the fight
once more like all the others
I guess you know what's wrong
there's nothing more for me to say
(talk: every time I try it never turns out different I don't know why I bother with any of it anymore I guess I must feel like it's worth the sacrifice but I'm sick of the staring faces, look but they don't see I don't think they care anyway but don't tell them that they'll prefer not to know what they've done or why)

I had a 424....
takes me back, especially the hiss lol. You are a much braver man than I. I'm not sure I could upload any of those tracks, although you seemed to have a better handle on how to record on one of those temperamental old machines.
You wrote this at 17, and it shows a great deal of potential, I don't think anything I wrote at 17 could measure up, or if I could even remember any of them. Thanks for sharing this, I might just dig out something I did back in the 90's when those gadgets were the affordable recording studios.

Guy, yeah I'd like to hear some of your older stuff on here. I personal have a LOT of respect for folks that took analog equipment and made it work for them. It wasn't as easy as it is now! So please do dig up your best!

But I'm surprised you call me brave, what's to be afraid of? Weren't we all wearing diapers for a couple of years? What's the big deal? I would really like (and hope) to get some real connections here. This means learning who we are I think. I guess I want friendship here as much as anything, and I'm not afraid to say "yeah, that was me, funny huh". If we are all musicians here then more than any other group we should be open to that kind of thing I would imagine. But who knows! Anyhow, I really appreciate the listen! :)

Point taken....
I guess I was coming from a place I tend to dwell in from time to time. Fear of failure lol. Yes you have to crawl before you can walk, and I totally understand your point. I am one of those who suffers from pretty severe stage fright, and I never completely got over it, even having forced myself on stage as a younger man. It got easier over the years and it isn't much of an issue anymore, except for the first couple of bars in any live performance I might do. Come to think of it I was asked to do Little Things at a festival in September, and it is the only time I can remember not having stage fright. Maybe it's finally gone ha ha. I hope so. You will find what you are looking for here. I am speaking from a personal standpoint. There are some really wonderful folk here. Welcome once again, and we're very glad you joined.

The folks at Analogapalooza will surely be happy to accept this Second Chance entry. Good song.

Now aren't you glad you held onto that crusty cassette tape for all these years? I am!

Welcome to MacJams

Interested - big time!
Yeah! Got a bit of a Webb Wilder bounce going on here - sometimes stripping away the drums gives you a chance to hear the guitars with a whole new authority. Excellent voice too.

Yeah, I'd love to hear more of this!
