Lyrics
Flap down town - take me where you want to
Right now I - want to be a found clown
Many are the colours - my indigo and violet
Happy as a hippy on a merry-go-round

Follow,Follow,Follow,Follow 'ME!'

Super Dooper - thanks to tv bloopers
Janet and Jody banging up against the wall
We got the flashlight silver kind of smokey moonlight
Party with the girlies at the back of the hall

And if it makes no sense well what you going to do
I got a stick to beat the rhythm but the rhythm beat you
I never take my chances - I only catch the big fish
Tiny is as tiny does - girl you got it all

Follow,Follow,Follow,Follow 'ME!'

Zoot suit maniac icon on the dancefloor
Rubbing you the wrong way - stick it up the right lane
Wrath of the animals - fingernails are ripping off the nylon
Leaving you to crawl - what a gimp!

Towards the DJ turning on a digital age
Weve got to run to make the power
Weve got the power of rage
And if we make it to the morning on the taste of champagne
We got to bang it in and bang it in and bang it in again

Follow,Follow,Follow,Follow 'ME!'

very exciting
This song has great pacing and vigor -- rings of Donovan in the lyrics, the organ sounds are quite compelling with their simple driving rhythms. The end might better have a long fade: it is a little anticlimactic as is.

Great work. Thanks for posting!

thanks Jiguma!
yes - I think you are right about the aniticlimatics,me old son.I felt the only option would have been an extended 40 hour keyboard solo in Zappa you are what you is style - if I could get anywhere near that.As it was - i had to stop and leave to mop floors in a Marc Borchardt unwillingly-vacuuming-a-crypt type way.Sorry I'm hooked on Marc Borchardt at the moment.Thank you very much - I feel like I just joined macjams again its been so long.Never let the sun go completely down.Sincerely - Regards - Richard

Hey Richard,
Love the break at 1:50! ELO-like lush choruses. Crazy popcorn synth-lines: a psychotropic rollercoaster ride....

I couldn't
quite place what was familiar about this until I read Jamorama's comment about Donovan. He's right, it's something that maybe Donovan would be doing if he was still in the charts now. Very different from your others too (nice to see you back). Good lyrics and pace and I love the harmonies in the 'Follow...' parts. How do you do that? Cheers M

I still dont know much Donavan - his name has cropped up quite a few times on some of me songs - I ought to check him out.Hope your well and still writing stuff,am planning to catch up soon..The harmonies? - erm work the chord out on the piano then divide it up into three seperate melody lines to be sung and pan them out - ope that helps - Sincerely - Richard

Hard to describe...
Overall, this is a good piece. I really really did enjoy listening to it!
Unfortunately, this piece brought me zero emotion. I sat through the entire length with a straight face and not once felt the urge to sing along or even tap my foot...
I feel that the choice of instruments and sounds was very... 'safe' and boring to say the least.
The percussion and beats are so elementary, I'd swear I heard those same beats 15 years ago playing on a kids Casio keyboard... :(
The vocal effects completely ruin anyone's chance of understanding the lyrics. If it weren't for the fact you have the lyrics posted, I would not know what was being sung.

Again, this was a GREAT listening experience, but I felt absolutely nothing while listening. Dance/Club music needs to invoke a feeling of movement, joy, elation, etc... If I walked into a club and this was playing, I'd go right to the bar and sit down with a stiff drink!

Its great to get some constructive critisicm - haven't had any in a ong while.I agree with you about the lyrics - they could be clearer - I tend to have periods of time where I just dont bother writing much at all,and sometimes it takes some kind of push in a vaguely constructive direction to get going again. The best thing you said was about it sounding like a kids casio keyboard - as that was exactly the kind of retro sound I was looking for - not to everyones taste.Sorry it caused zero emotion lol - but thanks for being honest!
