That is a rather ambitious piece! And Laura did an excellent job with it, I'm very impressed! I know that she will listen to this and hear lots of places she messed up, but I have to say, as the audience, that I really enjoyed this performance! Her mom did an excellent job on the piano too. Nice piano transcription she chose. How long has Laura been practicing? She is really making that violin fly. Is she up for collaborating here? A great performance by a couple of talented musicians! And pretty decent recording too, it's hard to record these performances.

Laura's been playing since three taking lessons from her grandma (three generations of violinists). This was the first time she publicly performed this piece and despite a near perfect run through beforehand, she made some mistakes on stage. I hope to update this later with a better performance and will pass along your encouraging comments to Laura. The recording was made using a mini-DV camcorder, from which I extracted the audio and made an MP3. This was part of a student recital in a small concert hall at the Univ of Redlands.

It is nice
It is nice to hear something recorded live. Especially such a lovely classical piece. I'm sure a lot of work and heart went into this piece, and it shows. Some nice work with expressive playing.

Laura says thanks to
Saymme and Krystjo. She also promises to play it better next time and, if she does, I'll re-post it.

I'm just an amateur who thankfully has a day job, but I do enjoy the sound and feel of the classical guitar. I also enjoy the original eclectic collection of music found on MacJams and the support and encouragement of jammers. Most of my submission... [see more]
