Christmas Each Day

Description
Back in the late 90's, I did a video series called "Disney Overload" which was a travelog through the Disney theme parks; footage of attraction ride-throughs, shows and conventions filled with Disney celebrities and fans. On one episode, dubbed "Disney Christmas Overload", a tour through the Walt Disney World resorts at Christmastime was accompanied by an original piece composed for the video entitled "Christmas Each Day."

Years later, as I was compiling my first Christmas album, I realized that this tune had never been released on an album and never been performed live. So, after re-writing a couple of lyrics that seemed a little dusty, I kept the arrangement pretty much as it was, with the inclusion of the mountain dulcimer as its newest element.

Granted, the tune doesn't cover all of the various holidays that take place during the month of December - I suppose this one really goes out to not only those who celebrate Christmas but anyone who believes that peace on Earth and good will towards all should be a daily occurring practice for each of us around the world. Happy Holidays to everyone here at MacJams!

Lyrics
When December appears 'round the corner
and the temperature falls on the scale
see the people get ready for Christmas
peace and joy start to prevail

carols send a message of good will
and the presents are wrapped with such care
oh, what I wouldn't give to know this could be certain
on every day of the year
peace on earth every day of the year

CHORUS

as we give of ourselves in a wondrous way
think of what our lives would be
if we never stopped in our quest
to give everyone our very best

as the music and joy of the season
shower blessings of unity
just think for a moment what a world it could be
Christmas each day for you and for me

as we gaze into glorious futures
on this planet that we all our home
count the blessings of hope and of friendships
and make love our cornerstone

although Christmas is part of a season
there's no reason that we can't foresee
a new dawning, a light, that will shine through the night
let graciousness dwell within thee
oh, let graciousness dwell within thee

CHORUS

as we give of ourselves in a wondrous way
think of what our lives would be
if we never stopped in our quest
to give everyone our very best

as the music and joy of the season
shower blessings of unity
just think for a moment what a world it could be
Christmas each day for you and for me
