Description
Again, had quite a departure from composing any music for awhile (although not as long as the last time). I'm back on an electronic kick this time around. I will say this is probably the most noodling I've done mixing a track, too.

Lyrics
After all is done, I'm left an open space.
There's a better way, or so they've told me.
I raise up my hands until they hide my face.
What do I believe? I come up empty.

I have found no one, no other kingdom here.
Will this will to live, outweigh the other,
Tend to my disease, don't let me fall from grace.
What do I believe? Perhaps, a saviour.

Wounds will heal with time, but time is far away.
Scan this vast terrain, and start the journey.
My mind's resonance, no longer home to me.
I must carry on. Survive the feeling.

After all is done, I'm left an open space.
There's a better way, or so they've told me.
I raise up my hands until they hide my face.
What do I believe? It's not the ending.

And on the way, you'll feel the pain subside
It's not the same, the world will change
As it has done for me.

Release the form, of every storm inside
No longer here, no longer near
It's now a memory.

You're not on your own.
You are not alone.

Instant Classic!
Wow! Very cool retro vibe happening here! I dig the color and mix of the synths. The layers of sustained and gated chords create a great deal of depth. The bass is fat and juicy without being overwhelming.

The break is super-melodic and a great piece of song writing and arranging. Lots of color, movement, and expansive space. Lyrics are kick-ass! This is an all-around professional showing.

Glad to see you're still twisting knobs in Logic. Hope all is well and the Summer is fine. I've got a few works in my pocket, but It'll probably be fall by the time they're done cooking. Cheers!

Thanks chikoppi
Looking at my archives, there's quite a few collaborations we started that never found the finish line, heheh! Some seem to make it all the way, some don't eh?

Thanks for the kudos, I'm pretty proud of this one... kinda' flowed from the fingertips relatively painlessly.

wow this starts of strong and just keeps going. great beats and nice choices on sounds and textures. excellent song-writing - when that chorus kicks the song just explodes! awesome stuff. the mix seemed a little bit bass-heavy to me, but i was listening with headphones, so who knows. this is a really excellent tune - great to see you back here!

Glad you liked it... I'd love to hear your thoughts on the bass without headphones. Going through my previous mixes, I've found that I tend to go rather bottom heavy on my mixes and have been working against that, comparing my mixes to professionally mixed tracks from the likes of VNV Nation and Apop. I tried to depart from being heavy on the bass this time around.

Nice
I'm going a little critical. But don't take it the wrong way ;)

It could use a hair more in the bottom end. The bass line itself could use a bit more variation in the beginning perhaps. Push the vocals in the chorus out a bit more and you're golden.

Otherwise, it's great. Something I could definitely push in the Seattle clubs. If I could only get a DJ job again. Stupid army work schedule.

It definitely has a VNV vibe to it and frankly, this is mastered better than most of their stuff.

Glad you like!
Thanks Normal... and good to see you pop back in...

Good feedback, can I get something a little more specific from you? Push the vocals out left and right more? Or push 'em out volume-wise?

Bass line... variation in treatment? Perhaps some filtering effects or the notes themselves?

Heheh, you KNOW why I'm trying to get more from you! I think some of the best mixes I've heard are generated from your hands.

Addition comments ; )
The vocals at least in the first chorus were a little drowned out. They sounded better in the 2nd and later as it sounds like you layered more on them. Just up the volume a little.

The bass line for the first bit just seemed a little repetitive. I was thinking a little note variation, maybe in the 4 and 8th bars or something. Just to spice it up a little.

Heh, thanks for the confidence in my mixing/producer skills. I hope no one thinks my "new" songs I uploaded are really new. Just old crusty stuff I wondered why I never put up.

Noodling
Another super pro mix.

Man I really love your ideas. The way those sounds pile up from the intro throughout the rest of the song. Each new sound you introduce almost sneaks in. It never gets too crowded or ugly.

Again, I like the way your backup vox reach those high notes and your vocal harmonies are very well mixed. The last few verses of vocals build up so nicely and I like how you decided to make the back up more prominent than in the first parts.

This is only the second song of yours I've heard and I am still as excited about your music as the first song. This one has just a bit less of a dance club sound (just a bit).

The outro sounds destroy me.

Thanks for another download. This is great music.
