Description
A warm up jam from last month at practice at Ultrasound rehearsal studios - recorded to Zoom H2 and mastered in GB08 and Audacity. Long and meandering but might entertain those who aren't late for anything.
The usual suspects: Stu, LSD 25, Bud and Steve DB.

Thanks Feter - always at the ready
LSD 25 plays a guitar that he built from various other guitars with his own custom wired pickups. I'll post a picture one day - it has a big hole through it where the old controls used to be. He also plays through a large array of pedals - some of his own construction or modification. He has some great vintage boxes.
I play either a '65 Fender Mustang or a Danelectro '59DC reissue. My pedal train is: Boss CS-2 Compression Sustainer, Boss BF-2 Flanger, Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive, Behringer VD1 Vintage Distortion, Boss DM-2 Delay, Behringer DR1-- Digital Reverb, Behringer UT100 Ultra Tremelo, and finally a Dunlop High Gain volume pedal.
We tend to use smaller (50-60 Watt) amps and run them clean - letting boxes do create the tone. In clubs I play a Peavey Bandit 65 and John uses an old Brownsville Thug. At rehearsal we get to use higher end gear than we could ever afford - Bogner, Matchless, Dr.Z.

Sweet Recording
Reminds me of a lost Band Of Gypsies Jam,,, wow sweet solo, who is that?
You guys are in top form here, so tight and smooth...as good as the guitars are Stu is right there with the heavy backdrop. Drums keep every thing chugging along nicely, amazing performance! thanks for the DL

Glad you stopped by Tom
I was wary of posting such an unstructured jam. Bud is playing most of the solos on this one - LSD 25 plays the grungier sounding rhythms, undertows and feedback.

Loose yet tight
There are some timing imperfections here that go with the live recording. Yet in another sense you guys are very tight: it all fits together very nicely. Good stuff.

Imperfection is our comfort zone
I just wished I remembered to play less every time I picked up my guitar. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

It actually continued for another three minutes
but I thought enough was enough. No Burning Man for me this year. It just started today and I just got back from taking my daughter to college in Portland, Oregon. However - we will be playing the NYC Decompression Party (Burning Man after party) on October 17th.

jamaholics
I'm having to listen to this through my tiny computer speakers, since my interface blew a gasket.
But the good thing is everyone is coming through nicely.

this is what a good grunge jam should sound like. rockin and on the edge. the whole band is holding it together rather nicely!

You know Vic
playing this music sober gets me higher than the drugs I used to take that I thought I needed to play this music. It also tends to make the edge a bit more navigable.

I like it.
Yes. Comfortable with each other. It sounds like it was easy. You have to practice to get that sound. Great, band. Thanks.

Thanks Char
You also have to play really loud to get that sound it seems. Something that has taken it's toll on my hearing I'm afraid. I know I should wear earplugs - but it just doesn't sound right when I do. I might invest in some pro plugs that allow you to change filters for different situations.
