Description
Well, it's been awhile. 3 months since I posted a new song, and I've been working on this piece for all that time. I love it but it's been a monster. After a lot of frustration and stress and discouragement, I finally gave up on trying to use the EastWest Symphony, Logic Express and all the other new toys I've gotten in the past few months. I've decided that trying to work my way through several learning curves while in the middle of a complicated composition is NOT a good idea. So, this is Garageband and the Apple Jam Packs at about the best I could do with them.
Since I played French Horn for nearly half of my life, it seemed time to write a piece featuring horns.
This is a long one, and meant to be sort of sunk into. It was very much influenced by the music of Thomas Newman, who I've been listening to a lot lately - specifically his soundtracks to American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, and Meet Joe Black. Gorgeous stuff.
Thanks to magnatone for many listens and feedback.
(oh, and the picture is a hubble photo of the swan nebula)

this turned out so beautifully shay! you just completely nailed these luscious changes, and the instrumentation in here is exquisite. there is so MUCH feeling in this song with many subtleties and so, so much grace. congratulations! :)
