Old Provencal Christmas Carol - Liszt

 Genre: Holiday

Liszt doesn't usually come to mind when you think of holiday music. I was delighted when I stumbled upon his Weihenachtsbaum, of which Old Provencal Christmas Carol is a part. I hope you're equally as delighted as I was. Merry Christmas!

Great discovery!
No, Liszt does not... but this is really nice, it has that warmth that helps stave off the biting winter. Is this his orchestration, or did you orchestrate a piano-only piece? The choice of instruments is really nice, and the staccato effects here give a crispness that is quite nice.

Thank you for a bit of holiday warmth!

It is amazing that get such clarity out of
the sampling that you have, not sure what went were as for as , Sym etc. But the realism is amazing and such a nice arrangement superb playing.

Way to go Sarah !

Beautiful song
and beautifully arranged. The harmonic realizations in the composition are really very interesting, and you have added just the right color with horns and flutes and that hopping bassoon. Wonderful sounds that you've mixed with care. Super.

Beautifully orchestrated!
I remember looking through dusty hard cover music of Liszt in our attic - from a previous generation and with generously yellowed paper - and never finding anything I could play on the piano at that age. But this is a beautiful piece and wonderfully realized with surprisingly warm and organic sounding samples. Very nice post, and it does have this sweet Christmas feel to it. Listened to it quite a few times. Thank you!

Who'd have thought!? I love it! Very nice job orchestrating it, too. Did you use GPO? I think I recognize that bassoon... :)

Total amateur but I love what I do. I've been more focused on the writing and the painting lately so I tend to pop in and out of macjams at random, infrequent intervals. But I love catching up on my favorite artists and discovering some new ones al... [see more]
