A re-recording of the main vocals on my last submission "Radio". The original vocal was little more than a guide and I've gone back and redone them, concentrating on the the timing with the backing vox. I'm much happier with this version.

Listening to your radio,
You hear that song that you heard before,
You hope that everyone loves the song the way that you do
You wanna have it all.

You're listening to your radio
Tempie's pumping out in stereo
I need Five Extra Arms, to guide my way,
Back home.

And nothing happens when you're feeling blue,
Nothing happens today,
I heard my song on the radio
But I can't listen since you went away

You're tuning in your radio
Those songs wont show you which way to go
I need my guitar
To show me where I have to go.

And nothing happens when you're feeling blue,
Nothing happens today,
I heard my song on the radio
But I can't listen since you went away

We're playing on your radio
We're playing on your stereo
We're playing on your radio, your radio
Your radio

sounds good
I thought the vocals were pretty good on the first version, but I agree the harmonies do sound better on this one... I like the approach to the harmonizing, which is more interesting than straight "major thirds".
great job!

The doubled vocals
and harmonies really do add another good layer to this song, which I like a lot... nice chord changes and guitar too.... I didn't hear the first version, but this one sounds excellent to me, All the best, M

just now coming around to this dude. i didn't see/hear the first version so imagine my surprise at the chorus lol. your vocals in the verse sound tops - a great 70's AM feel, reminded me of the Jayhawks. i love tunes about the radio. summer radio is magic, i don't care who's playing. is that mellotron in the chorus? nice tune dude.

Simple and effective
I've n oticed a tendency here on MJ for some people to overproduce some of thier songs, putting in too many overdubs and effects for my tase. This by contrast is really great, a simple and catchy melody.Simple clean production and clear vocals. Yeah a good job

Tempie's pumpin' out in stereo
This is such a good feeling song. Not only does Tempie get props in the song itself, but he made a great call on the Jayhawks. It's a special song when the lyrics are a bit sad, but you still want to dance. Good job!

I grew up in the 70's and 80's in the south of the UK in an Irish family. I had always loved music but was never given an opportunity to explore making it for myself. About 10 years ago I bought an acoustic guitar and began strumming in earnest. To d... [see more]
