A Winter Tale

My first musical piece this year, describing the winter here in Sweden. Looking out my living room, there is still lots of snow, on the streets, in the air, falling out the sky. It inspired me into writing this little "Moment".

So well done
My, this is pretty, well written, profoundly performed. You have managed to capture, at least in my ears, a sense of solitude without sadness, memory without too much residual pain, a sense of quiet and repose without surrender, a sense of history without repetition. You take from the masters yet exhibit such personal intimacy, this is all your own. I was truly moved.

Thanks, Tobin, for these nice words. I feel that I start to leave the musical style I wrote before, still Romantically but different. I lean on previous masters, yes, especially Beethoven and Schumann but would never consciously copy them.

Beautifully composed melody. The snow here in Sweden is a blessing, it brightens up the dark winters.

Charming and spare. I love the space in this. A sweet but not saccherine composition nicely played. There's real depth here.

A tale well told.
I also like the space in this. There is a wonderful lightness to this piece that is balanced with these pauses of reflection. I can't help but think back to the past winters of my childhood while listening. Nicely composed and played. I very much enjoyed it.

Original and deeply inspired
I read Tobin's comment and can't really think of anything else to add. But it is a great thing to have an accomplished composer and musician like yourself in our midst. Find it quite generous of you to post your evocative and inspiring work here. Thanks for that!
