Description
I don't think I've ever uploaded any of my non-guitar based works, so here is one. This started out as a disco/techno groove thing which evolved (no pun intended) into some kind of semi-serious classical work. At 29 tracks this is by far the busiest thing I have ever produced. Mostly loops with occasional note-for-note programming and a small bit of keyboard played by me. This thing is freaking insane. I hope you enjoy it.

Insane
yes but a great listen.
Funky classical?
I sure do like it, as the track progresses the more and more I sense your insanity.
I like those classic analog patches.
Great treat to my ear.
Pick a genre, cause I just heard it!
Don't worry about the insanity, I was there but now I'm stable . . .

Thanks for listening.
I wasn't sure if anyone would have the patience to listen past the very long, syncopated intro.

Thanks.
Glad you like it. It wasn't so much a matter of making it work. I started without much of a plan and just kept adding stuff. I don't think I ever subtracted anything or changed anything once it was there. Just lots and lots of adding.

Interesting mix
Some big contrasts, but it doesn't feel haphazard. Enjoyed.

Not haphazard? Well I guess that was a risk considering the method by which I composed it, but I'm glad you think it's not. Thanks for listening.

I have always valued your opinion, and I am quite pleased that you were able to sit all the way through this song.

Another KSA Candidate
You are on the verge of needing the KSA help group here ("Kitchen Sink Anon." Magnatone and Kassia and I are life-members.) There's an awful lot of wild stuff crammed in here, but as Victor points out, it is NOT haphazard, and did hold my interest, in a weird way.. very fun and quirky. Welcome back Aaron, good to see you!

KSA
Haha, sounds pretty cool. I'm honored to be considered for membership in Kitchen Sink Anonymous. You, Drakonis, have always been the master of electronic music, very good at melody and structure, so your compliments are high praise indeed.

Controlled crazed mania
This is very cool stuff. It goes all over the map but it seems to keep a single ajenda going through the entire song. Nice one.

Controlled
I didn't feel very in control when I was making it. The only control I exercized was when I decided it was time to stop adding instruments. I'm glad you think it's controlled. Other people always see your music differently than you do.

Insane! Literally! (in a good way)
This is one of the most insane classic songs I've ever heard, and I mean the good "insane"! So catchy, although I think you should make this a techno song or a disco song.

Disco/Techno
This started as a techno/disco song, and I never removed any of those elements. The drums, clavinet, and synthesizers are all still there. It was after I added the harpsichord that I decided to include more orchestral instruments and go in a classical direction. I still have a saved file of the original disco/techno mix, and if enough people want to hear it I will upload it.

You pull it off
This was going to be something I said blah blah great song. But it kept getting more interesting. It is like freeform jazz with a retro dico feel. No wait it is an... its a lot of things but what it is most is a fantastic and complete thing. You are a savant right? I mean really it is everywhere without leaving what it is. Well fantastic.

Stretching the limits
beyond "classical" into some new life-form!

You have an abundance of ideas here, which you have combined in artful ways using various sounds. The electronics push this piece into another genre; I don't know exactly where it would fit, but it's not "classical", per se.

But that doesn't matter! -- because this is a very imaginative piece which takes the listener on a wild journey, like a dream containing many unrelated fragments of scenarios.

The horn/trombone sound was very dry and up-front in the mix, while the strings were way in the background, not quite integrated into the sound texture. Since you have incorporated so many interesting, disparate sounds in this piece, I would suggest bringing them into more of the same sound-field, integrating the effects.

This is way-cool as is, though. You have a great imagination. Welcome back to MacJams!!

Mix
I listened to it a few more times, and I think you're right about the mix. As far as I'm concerned this piece is done, but if I ever decide to do anything more with it I will definitely take your mixing suggestions under advisement.

i love the 'shaft' accidental? influence. a very creative piece....if it were mixed by a pro then it would be seriously interesting. at least you have the ideas. it kind of is freakily insane but then it's got a narrative drive running through it and it has elements that are sensational.

Shaft?
I'm not sure what you mean by Shaft? Thanks for the kind words. Maybe it would make an interesting video game sountrack - or in shortened form, opening title music for a movie.
